Crafty in Cream City: My 2015 Resolution
http://craftyincreamcity.blogspot.com/2015/01/my-2015-resolution.html
Modern quilts, old sewing machines, and everything in between. Thursday, January 1, 2015. Well it's officially 2015 and I made a few New Year's Resolutions.finish some quilting and knitting projects, acquire more sewing machines. But I wanted to make one real resolution. In 2015, I want to make more and buy less. One reason is economic. I work for a school district, folks. I don't make a ton of cash. I should save money any chance I get. The last reason, though is because I just love. 1 Can I make that?
Crafty in Cream City: July 2014
http://craftyincreamcity.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Modern quilts, old sewing machines, and everything in between. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Lately I've been working on re-arranging the basement. I have my sewing area down there, and my husband has an area where he does projects. I thought we could use our space better, and make a new and better space for the kids to play, if we moved things around. My spot is done. Here it is! Oh, and the shelves will be covered too. This past weekend we had a rummage sale. We did fairly well. I had the White Rotar...Later...

Modern quilts, old sewing machines, and everything in between. Monday, February 17, 2014. Welcome home, Advance. It's been about two months, but I finally found time to get out to my parents' house and get the treadle base for the Davis Advance. Welcome home, old girl! It looks pretty good for 118 years old. It was manufactured around 1896. I love the tray with the little holes where the bobbins go.or they would, if I had more than just one bobbin. I need to order a belt and some needles (it takes extra-...

http://craftyincreamcity.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Modern quilts, old sewing machines, and everything in between. Tuesday, December 24, 2013. I'm not quite done with my holiday sewing, but that's okay because my family isn't getting together to exchange gifts until the 29th. Plenty of time, right? Here's what I made my co-workers.zippered pouches. I filled them with candy. I hope they liked them.I have one made with the same tutorial, and I think it's really handy. Hope your holiday sewing is going better than mine! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Crafty in Cream City: Making vs. Buying
http://craftyincreamcity.blogspot.com/2015/01/making-vs-buying.html
Modern quilts, old sewing machines, and everything in between. Friday, January 9, 2015. Making vs. Buying. So when I decided to question myself before every purchase this year, to see if it was something I could make myself or buy locally-crafted, I thought it would be pretty easy. After all, I love to make things for myself and my family. This would be the perfect. To do more of that, save money, and reduce my environmental impact. Clearly, I was delusional. 4 My full-time job. Or, really, time. I'm not...
