Ramblings of Araeyla: January 2012
http://ramblingaraeyla.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Stuff I did and a few observations on life, the universe, and everything. Friday, January 27, 2012. Alive and well and not living in London 2012: the year of books. I'm alive. I'm reasonably well, too. I recently joined up to a group on Ravelry. Whose aim is to complete 12 crafting projects within 12 months (I have overly simplified the aim). I'm sure I'll discuss my progress for this challenge more closely on my craft blog. There are no genre restrictions. Picture books don't count. Well, that seems to ...

Ramblings of Araeyla: February 2012
http://ramblingaraeyla.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Stuff I did and a few observations on life, the universe, and everything. Sunday, February 26, 2012. Not Reading So Quick-ly. Sorry, terrible pun. Anyone who knows me personally should really be aware of my addiction to bad puns by now, though. The last two books I read have been keeping within the theme of historical romance. Both were by Amanda Quick, and both were ebooks checked out of the library. Have I gushed about how much I love overdrive media yet? Book 1 was Desire. Book 2 was Mischief. By the ...

Ramblings of Araeyla: Review: Tremble: Erotic Tales of the Mystical and Sinister
http://ramblingaraeyla.blogspot.com/2013/11/review-tremble-erotic-tales-of-mystical.html
Stuff I did and a few observations on life, the universe, and everything. Wednesday, November 06, 2013. Review: Tremble: Erotic Tales of the Mystical and Sinister. Tremble: Erotic Tales of the Mystical and Sinister. My rating: 1 of 5 stars. I'm being generous and rounding up the score to 2 stars from 1 1/2. I did not find these stories to be either particularly well written or to have half-way decent story lines. Essentially, I felt that I was reading erotic versions of Goosebumps books. The only reason ...

Ramblings of Araeyla: Nearly half-way but running out of time.
http://ramblingaraeyla.blogspot.com/2013/10/nearly-half-way-but-running-out-of-time.html
Stuff I did and a few observations on life, the universe, and everything. Sunday, October 20, 2013. Nearly half-way but running out of time. After last year's poor attempt at a reading challenge, I lowered this year's limit to 100 books. I'm not quite half-way (although I feel like I deserve a medal for some of the books I actually managed to finish). Partly I blame the new Animal Crossing game - that game has taken over my life! I recently finished A Passage to India. Is released. So close - yaaaay!

Ramblings of Araeyla: May 2013
http://ramblingaraeyla.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Stuff I did and a few observations on life, the universe, and everything. Saturday, May 04, 2013. Review: Knit One, Kill Two. Knit One, Kill Two. My rating: 4 of 5 stars. WARNING: includes bad puns). I'm not usually one for books without dukes, dragons or some kind of supernatural or historical thing going on, but was attracted to this book because it featured knitting. As an avid knitter it seemed a fairly logical choice. The only downside with this book was that I felt it cast-off rather abruptly. ...

Ramblings of Araeyla: November 2013
http://ramblingaraeyla.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Stuff I did and a few observations on life, the universe, and everything. Saturday, November 09, 2013. My rating: 5 of 5 stars. I say this about every Pratchett book I read, but I think this is my favourite. One of my favourites. Top 5, anyway. Even though it is one of the stand alone novels in the Discworld series, I tend to class it with the City Watch stories as, although not part of the main cast, Vimes' appearances are significant. I've read this book so many times that it's difficult to summarize it.
