So last weekend Aaron removed everything off our kitchen shelves to oil and paint them. It was one of those jobs that didn't quite get finished in the big scheme of our renovation. We have a few little jobs like that around the house that need finishing off and Aaron is now going through each room and ticking them off one by one. After living with it all cleared and empty for a week I decided I was tired of how it was before and it was time for a change. This was the perfect excuse for a total refresh.

Fossil hunting - craftykin

http://craftykin.blogspot.com/2015/07/fossil-hunting.html

We went on a fossil hunting expedition to one of our local beaches. Liam had been asking a lot - (he was inspired by watching these you tube videos. If only that place was just down the road from us! It's a great reason to get into the outdoors on a sunny winters day too and explore our surroundings. I'll take some photos of some of the interesting rocks Liam bought home with him to show you tomorrow. Labels: activities with the kids. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Saying hi from the kitchen - craftykin

http://craftykin.blogspot.com/2010/01/saying-hi-from-kitchen.html

Saying hi from the kitchen. I've just been pottering around in the kitchen, preparing dinner,. Jamie Oliver's Perfect Roast Chicken, for the first time,. I'm hoping of course that it's going to live up to it's name. Kids are both sleeping (whoop! Liam very rarely has day sleeps now). I'm finally taking down that chamomile that has been strung up in the kitchen window drying. Perhaps I'll brew some up soon. Oh look there's some Christmas stuff creeping into this post after all. Corners of my home. Wow- yo...

Dress from a tablecloth - easy tutorial - craftykin

http://craftykin.blogspot.com/2010/12/dress-from-tablecloth-easy-tutorial.html

Dress from a tablecloth - easy tutorial. And I'm so pleased with the results, I've worn it so much already and it has been a lifesaver in the hot and humid and sticky weather we have been having. It was super easy to make, it's just a big rectangle really, so I thought I'd write up a tutorial, just incase you have a tablecloth around that would rather have life has a dress. A short tablecloth would make a great tunic top too. How to make a super easy breezy tablecloth dress (or tunic top) :. Lay the dres...

Show and tell and share - craftykin

http://craftykin.blogspot.com/2008/10/back-as-promised-with-some-finished.html

Show and tell and share. Back as promised with some finished crafting to show. I seem to have so many half finished things hanging around at the moment. I've decided I'm not starting anything else until I've finished some of them! This bag has been one of those things patiently waiting for a few finishing touches. It's made from an old tablecloth that had a couple of stains on it so I didn't mind cutting it up. The top section is linen and it's lined in dark red cotton. Quick bread, buns or pizza base :.

Isla is seven! - craftykin

http://craftykin.blogspot.com/2014/12/isla-is-seven.html

Happy birthday to our sweet Isla! She turned 7 last Thursday, almost sharing her birthday with my new niece Evie, who was born on Wednesday. So happy birthday to you too dear little Evie :). I was trying to find some photos of Islas birthday to share, and I'm afraid I did a terrible job with my photography that day, so this is the best I can do :), most of the photos were blurry because she was having too much fun to stand still! We love you Isla! Big SEVEN year old! View my complete profile.

Coco Sunday: September 2010

http://coco-sunday.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 29 September 2010. Sometimes the ordinary day to day stuff is just there in the background and you don't really appreciate it when it's there all the time. One day recently; on a grey and drizzly day I looked out of my window at work. It was so rainy but there was a little bit of sun peeking through and I switched the settings on the camera to manual to capture the blur. If you look hard enough, I mean really hard enough, the loveliness is there where-ever you are. Monday, 27 September 2010.

Coco Sunday: October 2010

http://coco-sunday.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, 21 October 2010. The road less travelled. The mornings are getting so dark around here, that most of the journey to work is done in darkness now. I have to confess though to a certain fondness for seeeing the world wake up and the sun rise, even if it is through the windows of the car. I'm beginning to get my mojo back again and am still enjoying the mondo beyondo. Wednesday, 6 October 2010. I'm trying to spend more time doing the things I enjoy, instead of running around like a headless chicke...

Viking bros in kilts: Why do we still discriminate?

http://vikingbrosinkilts.blogspot.com/2014/05/why-do-we-still-discriminate.html

Viking bros in kilts. Friday, May 23, 2014. Why do we still discriminate? But mostly the internet told me that my child being gay was not a good thing and so when it was confirmed to me that yes he was in fact gay I was devastated. But my boy was so happy and I loved him and after a while I wondered if there was anything bad about being gay after-all? When I was pregnant with him I has wished for a healthy happy baby and that it was he was. I felt lucky I realised. I am currently pregnant with our 4.

Viking bros in kilts: Pirate Party Day

http://vikingbrosinkilts.blogspot.com/2011/03/pirate-party-day.html

Viking bros in kilts. Saturday, March 12, 2011. Not long after Finn turned 4 he told me he wanted a Pirate party when he turned 5 and we have pretty much been planning it since then. Everytime we had a cardboard box at home we cut it up and made a 'beware' or a 'danger' sign. It's been a lot of fun! We started the day with presents. Then we decorated the garden with out home-made bunting and signs that we have been busy making. This is the entry tunnel - it looks a bit lame but the kids loved it! School ...

We are all well though and busy with mid year school activities and the like. Be right back! Wednesday, May 9, 2012. We just had a wonderful week on the Gold Coast of Australia. The boys loved it, especially swimming in the pool and visiting the theme parks. Finn, Uncle Steen and Grandma on the plane. Ipad is a life saver on flights! Mama to Finn, Mik...

Crafty Kim | Fun, simple projects for every season and any reason!

Fun, simple projects for every season and any reason! Must be in the genes. May 10, 2016. Mother’s Day was this past Sunday, and I recalled ballet lessons when I was very little and living in Japan. I must have been about 3 or 4. As I twirled around with the other toddlers in our leotards, Mom (who is Japanese) and some other mothers sat at tables and made dolls. These dolls still grace her home in large glass cases, and these photos were taken with a smart phone and hardly do the real things justice.
