Penn Avenue Soup Kitchen. Members of Oxford Baptist Church prepare and serve meals at the Penn Avenue Soup Kitchen on fourth and fifth Fridays, January through October. Current meals being served are baked spaghetti or chicken and pasta. Food contributions needed are cooked meat, canned green beans, and fruit. Volunteers are needed to cook the food and serve plates. The couple moved to Durham in 2000 for Chris to pursue his Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School.
