Velokat: Road to Recovery
http://velokat.blogspot.com/2010/04/road-to-recovery.html
Friday, April 16, 2010. If you read this blog, you may have noticed that I haven't posted about cycling since November. This is because I have been off the bike since then, sidelined by a herniated disc between the L5 and S1 vertebrae. I'm posting today, because yesterday was my first day on a "real" bike since October 31st. I rode my winter road bike to and from work yesterday and it felt just wonderful! I have been riding my upright commuter bike (to commute) a few times a week for the last couple of w...

Velokat: May 2009
http://velokat.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 18, 2009. Apparently my back wheel is some kind of magnet that draws other bicycles into it. Or perhaps it's a vortex, I'm not sure. What I do know is that in three weeks, I've done three races, been involved in three incidents, and had three wheel repairs. Springtime in the Desert (Tucson Trip). On Monday I reassembled my bike, then cut my hand open and spent a couple of hours in urgent care (see last post). :-(. Without Catherine joining...

Diary Of A Busker. Sometimes the customers threw something in the hats. Sometimes they took something out of the hats. Sometimes they took the hats." - George Burns. Sunday, December 7, 2014. Tonight, as I was leaving the Argyll Arms before busking, I got buttonholed by a woman on the stairs leading down from the toilets. Here," she said to me. "Do you know who you remind me of? I've no idea," I replied. Barry Gibb," she said. I paused a moment. She laughed. I smiled. So where are you from, then? Why hav...
