Two men and the food. Sunday, July 15, 2007. Our new house/old house is now more interesting than food. Why did we move? Where did we move to? We moved across Taipei from the Southwest part to the Northeast part. The old house and the new house are about 3.5 miles apart as the crow flies, but by public transportation, it takes about an hour to travel between them, or about 30 minutes by taxi. The shelf weighs 70 pounds, but can hold 600 pounds, due to the marvels of modern engineering. Two men and the food. Sunday, December 17, 2006. The Pork Has Always Been Good to Me. Underneath this tangy sauce of red wine, tomatoes, basil, oregano and shallots lie two pork loin chops. The were pan fried then finished in the oven. Shitake shrooms and flavorless asparagus roasted with olive oil and dried rosemary, that I'm never using again because it tasted like sweetened pine needles, shared the plate along with the ever present Taiwan Beer. The meat was good. The vegetables were not.
