The dress Cheryl Cole was wearing for the x-factor is also another great example of a structured garment. I love the way the top of the dress is fitted and shows off her figure, and then from the waist it goes out to a very structured skirt. The dress is strange and isn’t a dress that most people would wear but I like the bold affect it had when she wore it. November 24, 2010.

I got the original idea of using architecture from the v&a museum when we had to do further research on our own. I liked the idea of using architecture because like fashion, it gives the creator a chance to express themselves and their work, together i think the two different subjects work extremely well together. I was looking at the shapes of the dome and thought that it would look really good on either side of the garment as shoulder pads. The pads could make the dome and then from a different structured material the garment could have the yellow beams on the pads. The idea would represent architecture and if neccessary the colours could even be changed as well.
