The Cranham Local History Society was formed in 1995, with the dual aims of creating an archive of the village's history that would be available to any researcher and publish a history of the village. Both aims were accomplished by 2005, however like all projects we are still collecting archive material and are into the second printing of the book entitled:-. CRANHAM the history of a Cotswold Village'. In addition we have produced a pdf version of the book on CD which is fully searchable.

Lt COL Carne VC. This view of Buckholt was painted by a patient at the Sanatorium in the early 1900's. The house and estate was part of the marriage settlement when Samuel Lediard married Mary Whatley They were Gustav Holst's grandparents. They lived in Cirencester but the family spent many happy summer holidays at Buckholt. Click on the pictures to find out more.
