Because movies don't review themselves. When capturing the eye matters. Just finished watching two movies that I think are doing really spectacular visual tricks in film worth pointing out. They've got me thinking about how film is an attempt at marrying verbal narratives with visual ones, and just how rare it is when these two goals actually meet. Now, arguably the two films I want to write about-. However, I'm willing to forgive given how beautifully he composed the shots in. Links to this post.

Because movies don't review themselves. Making Lemonade (out of badass, stylish lemons). In homage to Rekha's. On movie trailers, I thought I'd turn the retrospective toward this tv. Spot advertising the dvd. I was a bit puzzled by the way the New York Times review. By AO Scott was used to promote the film. I wondered, "Did the NYT. Do the forces behind Smokin. Take such comments as positive? Being somewhat familiar (I think) with Scott's style, it didn't seem to me that " Blam. The spot cleverly does not.
