Posted under My Regular Mind. On August 19, 2008 at 07h33. When I’m ancient and my mind begins to fail, I know that life will seem like this same ongoing tragedy. I hope that if nothing else, the first thing I forget is that this feeling is irregular; that there was, at a time, a comfort surrounding me. Forgetting the beauty of certainty would be devastating, but it might make the confusion easier to live with. Especially since life continues regardless. Mdash; George Carlin. Posted Feb 28, 2008.

Anything But Idle « Mickie the Trigger

Posted under My Regular Mind. On July 30, 2013 at 06h46. My alarm vibrates against my ankle. My instinct is to snooze, but I remind myself:. Updating this site is not among those things. Not due to idleness, but discipline. A society that presumes a norm of violence and celebrates aggression, whether in the subway, on the football field, or in the conduct of its business, cannot help making celebrities of the people who would destroy it. Mdash; Lewis H. Lapham. Being lonely feels almost satisfactory.

Mostly the Story of Avi. Posted under My Regular Mind. On January 30, 2011 at 11h53. Almost a year ago, I had finished eating an avocado and decided to put the seed in a planter. A few months later there was a stem sprouting from the seed, with some little green leaves flourishing at the top! I was fascinated by the insistence of life, which is what inspired me to plant a balcony garden. I’ve taken pictures. Of Little Avi’s progress over time, such as the day he got his own place. He loves his new digs.

Posted under Briefs of Fiction. On May 15, 2012 at 10h32. There are children playing in a park. One of them, a soldier, shoots! I do my best whenever I can to promote conscientious discourse. Our society is one that can only thrive on unity, understanding, and compassion. 911 Was An Inside Job? Posted on February 17, 2011 at 08h01. Recently I saw some graffiti that read, “9/11 was an inside job.” I couldn’t help but take a photo and disagree. See, I don’t think that this slogan is entirely accurate. I would have written something like, “9/11 Was Never Fully Investigated.”. To realize how suspicious the entire incident was. An...

Comicle #10: Natural Hunters. On March 14, 2011 at 11h37. Believe it or not, eating wasn’t always as easy as going to a restaurant and picking something from the menu. In fact, there was a time when humans didn’t even have grocery stores! Yes, I know it’s hard to believe while sitting in front of your computer only steps away from your refrigerator, but it’s true. Posted under My Regular Mind. On February 28, 2011 at 01h48. Some time last week, I didn’t sleep well. In the middle of the night, I heard a loud, loud noise that sprung me immediately to my feet. I stood beside the bed confused, adjusting to my surroundings. My girlfriend tends to sleep lightly, and yet she was undisturbed. Had there been no loud, loud noise at all? Was it the sound of my feet hitting the floor that sounded to me like thunder? Something similar happened years and years ago.

Posted under On the Topic of Writing. On January 26, 2009 at 09h48. Flying back home, I chatted with a couple that were beginning their vacation. The man saw that I was reading and interrupted to ask what the book was about, then after the conversation maundered to writing, he told me that there weren’t any original ideas. And then he asked me why I’d want to write; what satisfaction could I possibly get from creating unoriginal stories? Vanity, ego, the desire to be remembered? Mdash; Winston Churchill.
