Live Grow. Nourish. Create. I’ve only sewn one more star, but I have turned all four stars into hexagons with the addition of background diamonds:. I love each of these star-in-a-hexagon blocks. Together, though, I’m not so sure. Are they going to be just toooo crazy? I feel they might need spacing with something easier on the eye. I think the options are:. 1 Intersperse with neutral coloured shapes eg hexagons or triangles. 2 Make the stars as I am doing but do half with neutral (white or pale pink?

Monday Morning Star Count | Live. Grow. Nourish. Create.
https://livegrownourishcreate.wordpress.com/2015/08/10/monday-morning-star-count
Live Grow. Nourish. Create. Monday Morning Star Count. I have made three more hexagon stars this week:. Which brings the total number to seven:. Now that I have more of a mixture of values and colours, I’m not so sure if I will need any neutral hexagons or triangles to break it up after all. I am liking the way they play together now🙂. Fickle, aren’t I? Linking up to Monday Morning Star Count. Over at Life Under Quilts. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Click to email (Opens in new window).

Low Volume Solids | Hexy Lady

My second act in fiber arts. Posted by Terri Schurter. Asymp; 1 Comment. In addition to creating more low volume flowers this week, I’ve been thinking about adding some solids to the mix in my low volume quilt. Not long ago I purchased two fat quarter bundles of the Kona “Not That White” collection. There are twelve Kona solids in this collection, and there are unfortunately specs of lint on my otherwise enticing photograph above. I found all of the colors on two sections of the Kona sample card…. For no...

Slow Stitching | Gretchen's Little Corner
https://gretchenscorner.wordpress.com/2015/08/16/slow-stitching
Gretchen's Little Corner. A blog about quilts, gardening, food and farming. Several weeks ago, I pulled out the resale shop crib quilt to work on in the evenings. I finished the applique, then I removed the green embroidery and re-embroidered the alphabet with a lighter green color. It didn’t make any difference, it still looks teale colored. I also embroidered the pink outline. Neither of these crib quilts will be. Quilts, but they will be loved and used. Nothing is better than that. This entry was post...
