Eastons in the Mid-West: Birthday at Legoland
http://mcsheaston.blogspot.com/2015/04/birthday-at-legoland.html
Eastons in the Mid-West. Friday, April 10, 2015. Spring break always happens right around Dallin's birthday. So this year we decided to take a short weekend trip to Chicago to take the boys to the Legoland Discovery Center. On the drive up there, Dallin got to open his first birthday present from his Easton grandparents: The Lego Movie. They were silently glued to the screen for the rest of trip. There was a replica of the Chicago skyline made from Legos. And a rainforest filled with lego animals. This i...

Eastons in the Mid-West: October 2014
http://mcsheaston.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Eastons in the Mid-West. Wednesday, October 22, 2014. There were farm animals that we got to pet in the barn. Actors are dressed up in period clothing and they teach you about life in Indiana in the 19th century as you explore the "town.". The kids sat listening to this blacksmith talk about his job for like 10 minutes. I was amazed at their attention span. The kids got to dress up and do chores. Connor in the apron/skirt is cracking me up. (It was his choice to wear it.). I love these 3 cuties. There ar...

Eastons in the Mid-West: Star Wars Birthday
http://mcsheaston.blogspot.com/2014/03/star-wars-birthday.html
Eastons in the Mid-West. Monday, March 31, 2014. Dallin loves Star Wars. He wears his Darth Vader shirt all the time and is always asking to watch the movies ("A New Hope" and "Return of the Jedi" are his favorites). So I was not surprised when I started planning for Dallin's fifth birthday and he asked for a Darth Vader cake. I went beyond the cake and planned a whole Star Wars themed birthday party for him. The inspiration for the invitation and a lot of the other party ideas came from Homemade by Jill.

Eastons in the Mid-West: Rolly Boy
http://mcsheaston.blogspot.com/2009/09/rolly-boy.html
Eastons in the Mid-West. Monday, September 21, 2009. I finally got a video of Dallin rolling over! Of course, babies never do things the way you plan, so there is a little "surprise" at the end. It's actually kinda funny, but I do have to warn you that if you get squeamish about baby fluids, you might not want to watch this. For the rest of you, enjoy! Labels: my growing baby. I love that his very proud of myself look that he has on his face changes instantly to dangit! I hate it when that happens!

Eastons in the Mid-West: Dallin turns 6
http://mcsheaston.blogspot.com/2015/05/dallin-turns-6.html
Eastons in the Mid-West. Thursday, May 14, 2015. Dallin's birthday started with lots of balloons. While the boys were sleeping the night before, we blew up about 100 balloons and put them into their bedroom to surprise Dallin when he woke up on his birthday. We had visions of the room being entirely filled several feet deep. We were not even close to that but we at least covered most of the ground with balloons. Bennett likes them too. I realize he looks less than impressed in this picture. Since we had ...

Eastons in the Mid-West: August 2014
http://mcsheaston.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Eastons in the Mid-West. Monday, August 11, 2014. Grandma and Grandpa visit. My parents came to Indiana to visit us for a week. My dad had a conference to attend at Purdue for work, so both mom and dad came out to stay with us. Dallin and Connor were so excited for Grandma and Grandpa to come visit. They loved all the extra attention and story times. We went blueberry picking one day. I love having so many local farms just outside of town, only a 10 minute drive from us. Dallin was really good at this ex...

Eastons in the Mid-West: September 2014
http://mcsheaston.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Eastons in the Mid-West. Tuesday, September 23, 2014. We finally made it to the county fair this summer! It's been on our summer list. For a few years, and the fairgrounds are only 5 minutes from our house, but we somehow have never managed to make it there, until this year. Unfortunately, we went on the last day so all the animals and livestock had already packed up and left, but the rides were still up. And a perk to waiting until the last day is that ride tickets were discounted. Connor took forever t...

The Meyer Family: December 2009
http://amyandseanmeyer.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 21, 2009. So, I know my resolution was to blog more often but with two kids, things get a little crazy. However, I have been better at bring my camera with me places to document things for the blog. I hope to get better though because Lucas does the funniest things that would make me so sad if I forgot! So here are the last two weeks activities. Grandma invited Lucas over to help her paint flower pots. Lucas enjoyed it! Getting some holding time with the baby. Picking out the tree! One o...

Eastons in the Mid-West: July 2014
http://mcsheaston.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Eastons in the Mid-West. Friday, July 25, 2014. Sorry, we are closed today." Mckay was not impressed. We settled on a nearby Chipotle. Not Thai, but still tasty. Ben teaches middle school math in inner city Baltimore, so he gave us a little driving tour of the neighborhoods surrounding his school. It was very humbling to see some of the living conditions that his students are in and hear stories of the challenges they face. Connor loved it so much he could hardly keep his eyes open. It was a very small r...

Eastons in the Mid-West: Spring Break
http://mcsheaston.blogspot.com/2015/04/spring-break.html
Eastons in the Mid-West. Friday, April 10, 2015. We did a few fun things during Dallin's spring break this year. One day, we went to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. It was just me and the three boys, which is quite an amazing feat of endurance for a parent, if you ask me. We saw the Chihuly glass sculpture. If there is ever anything related to Star Wars in a room, the boys know how to find it. We played at the water table. And then the sand table. Connor played some drums. Dallin saw this Star War...
