Confessions of an Oxfordshire stitcher. Saturday, 20 September 2014. University Memories Newcastle upon Tyne Medical School. This was the most exciting time ever: I can still feel the THRILL of excitement that I felt at Fresher's week in Newcastle! I joined the Gilbert and Sullivan Society and the Fellwalking Club as well as the folk dancing and Morris Ladies team and Scottish Dancing too! Clearing out the garage to make room to store some furniture from the childhood home I found these:. Then there was ...

Confessions of an Oxfordshire stitcher. Wednesday, 19 November 2014. Autumn Walks take 3 HAPPY exercise? Finally we get to the walks I wished to share, the ones that were THIS week and therefore recent. In take 1 I did duplicate the walk I had already blogged in the Half Term post this year, but hey that's no problem is it? Except of course I should be reading or searching for papers for my research project. I will now do so very shortly. Thought I'd see if I could cope and how it would feel? Then when i...

Confessions of an Oxfordshire stitcher. Thursday, 13 August 2015. St Andrews photo diary 1st week in August 2015. Wandering about in St Andrews on the Sunday afternoon after arriving at University Hall at 1 pm. University gates were open: so had a look at the quad. Then off to see the SEA! And the harbour pier in the distance far right, veering off to the left. Castle beach from a side view. Hills in the far distance not showing up. There they are hills behind on the horizon of a castle view. Kennedy Gar...

Confessions of an Oxfordshire stitcher. Sunday, 29 June 2014. Flower Mandala mug rug. This is my wee mandala that I posted off to Yarndale on Friday 27th, fingers crossed it will still make it on time. Town is looking lovely with floral balls suspended everywhere: splendid petunias. And celebrating with a shop bought- Coop and delicious! As this was part of the oven heating element that was removed this week so no baking until it was fixed. Thought is looked marvellously organic? But it's all metal?

Confessions of an Oxfordshire stitcher. Thursday, 30 April 2015. Mindful Eating and food relationships. Hi guys, everyone this blog will now have a few posts now and then about eating and exercising and changing some ingrained habits for improved, increased health as well as lots of fun and pure simple joy. Needing to reshape myself due to overeating and stress during my studies and issues at home in 2013 and 2014 I no longer fit into some of my best and favourite dresses, so something has to be done.

Confessions of an Oxfordshire stitcher. Friday, 26 June 2015. Beating Retreat such an experience. Here are some of the team with the two officers from the Regiment who coordinated what we did and looked after us. This is Louise who plays the drums and who shared a room with us when we stayed over at Blackheath Barracks. These videos give an impression of how it all went. It was a fabulous experience, much enjoyed by all who took part. Https:/ www.youtube.com/watch? Https:/ www.youtube.com/watch? Another ...

Confessions of an Oxfordshire stitcher. Saturday, 24 January 2015. January Blues but more about Vienna. Almost a month ago now since I posted anything but it's been a very busy month thus far with lots of walks and crochet , work and research and a few blues thrown in for good measure. The sun rose beautifully over the Danube. After a good night sleep in our delightfully huge room. And cake for breakfast! We got the hang of the Viennese metro system, using mainly two lines . And Miss Y's were hired but t...

Confessions of an Oxfordshire stitcher. Wednesday, 29 October 2014. QUICKIE Half Term Update: walks and X-mas pudding time again? This was a week ago in some of the most amazing summery weather we have been having this October? 20 degrees C and sunny, most unusual for mid to late October! This is at Aston Rowant, what we call ' the Bluff' at home. Just a quick flashback to the week after Delft when we ate a lot of this on our crusty brown bread. Getting the hang of taking a panorama shot? Just a quick cr...

Confessions of an Oxfordshire stitcher. Monday, 29 December 2014. Vienna just before Christmas 2014: a city break. Arriving late Friday in Vienna at a hotel on the Danube we had some apfelstrudel to celebrate and it was truly delicious. We had a view across the famous Danube, now dark and black, to the high rises of the Financial District. In the morning we awoke to bright sunshine and the Danube, sehr shon was very BLAU! Much bigger than imagined also. An egg floating on a sea of spinach puree with a do...
