http://www.lifeasapreschooldirector.com/2013/09/a-lady-who-lunches.html
Life as a Preschool Director. Thursday, September 12, 2013. A lady who lunches! Who would've thought that I would become one of "those"? Well, I have! I am now a "Lady Who Lunches"! I know I keep going on and on about our preschool, but it was more than just a child care center. We were FAMILY who loved and played together every day! I AM healing. I AM working through everything that happened. I AM trying to find a new job. I AM finding strength in a friend who "gets it." I AM BLESSED! A lady who lunches!

Life as a Preschool Director. Saturday, April 28, 2012. Teacher Appreciation Day 2012. I started planning Teacher Appreciation Day about 2 weeks ago. I really thought it would work - was so hopeful that it would - and it did! The teachers were showered with gifts and blessings, and they were completely surprised! We have some pretty great parents, so I really expected they would jump at this opportunity, but you never know. I was quietly nervous about it. Well, there was no need! How cute is this.A c...

Life as a Preschool Director. Thursday, May 31, 2012. Fun NAEYC Celebration Treats. After our big announcement yesterday - - Achieving 100% in our NAEYC Accreditation - - we had to celebrate a little bit today! The Children's Ministry department treated the staff to pizza and cokes. YUMMY! I put out a fun and inexpensive treat. We had a big party last week, so today's celebrations are just small acknowledgements of our actual award. I promise to post info about our NAEYC Celebration soon! It is customary...

Life as a Preschool Director: The horrible school shooting
http://www.lifeasapreschooldirector.com/2012/12/the-horrible-school-shooting.html
Life as a Preschool Director. Saturday, December 15, 2012. The horrible school shooting. Sorry for the long delay - again. I've had tons of stuff going on, but they've all been major, confidential topics that I wasn't able to share on the blog. Thanks for understanding. That's just part of the job! As much as we hate it, NONE of us are immune to this kind of violence. We have parents who are either currently divorced, or are going through a divorce. We have parents who have lost their jobs. So do...I don...

Tuesday, July 30, 2013. New School Year, New Attitude! So I've been in a funk! I didn't realize how bad its been until I stepped back and really took a long HARD look at myself. In taking that look, what I discovered was, I spent a lot of time worried about what other people thought, wondered if I was good enough, and focused on what's wrong in my life rather than what's RIGHT! So, that is going to change in a big way. Part of the change comes from reading the book, Teach Like A Pirate! As part of my 21 ...

Life as a Preschool Director: No longer a Director
http://www.lifeasapreschooldirector.com/2013/09/no-longer-director.html
Life as a Preschool Director. Thursday, September 5, 2013. No longer a Director. Well, this post has been a long-time coming. I doubt anyone is even out there. Oh well. I can't just leave things unfinished, so I have to write this, even if it's only for my closure. We decided that we needed to do some painting and other remodeling. I was excited about all of the changes! It was a crazy time, but it was exciting and we all knew good things were going to happen. Obviously, I am only sharing a tiny bit of w...

Header/Navigation Bar/Social Media Icons. Tuesday, 26 May 2015. Once again I am participating in a linky party hosted by Marie from. Once Upon a Classroom. Be sure to visit her blog to learn about using technology in the classroom. Today, I am sharing a website that I use as part of my literacy instruction for my students.
