Jo-Anns Creations, Trials and Tribulations! A personal take on the life of a "crazy" quilter. Thursday, January 30, 2014. What can I say! It's sort of a Japanese coins pattern and came out beautiful. The red border really sets it off. Sandy did a great job quilting it (as usual). The quilting pattern really enhances the quilt. Hopefully you can get a good look at the pattern she used. It really is a gorgeous quilt. Hard to see the quilting but that's the point, beautifully quilted. In those days I used t...

Jo-Anns Creations, Trials and Tribulations! A personal take on the life of a "crazy" quilter. Friday, November 8, 2013. I have a way! Should be my middle name! I got absolutely nothing done yesterday and at the end of the day when I usually sit watching TV and stitching, I played one of my Hidden Object games (I can really get obsessed). I know, some days you just have to give in and do nothing. Also, I am planning on working on that disaster kitchen. Have a great day everyone! Thursday, November 7, 2013.

Jo-Anns Creations, Trials and Tribulations! A personal take on the life of a "crazy" quilter. Friday, January 17, 2014. There really is no stopping me at this point. I dove back into the bag of projects I have been lugging around for a few months and came up with a project I had started a couple of years ago. This project has a history which dates back to B.C. (before Cock-A-Doodle). Completed blocks (sort of). Block # 75 - Rosebud - 28 pieces. Block # 86 - Squash Blossom - 22 pieces. Having attached Row...

Jo-Anns Creations, Trials and Tribulations! A personal take on the life of a "crazy" quilter. Monday, February 17, 2014. I have been writing this blog addition for more than a week in my mind! My body however, has not been co-operating so I could not get to the computer to actually compose it.takes a while for me to recuperate from my infrequent outings. Liz has been my strength for the past 9 months! I don't know how else to say it! Needless to say, when my 60th Birthday was approaching, it was Liz who ...

Cock-A-Doodle Quilts is developing a new on-line presence. We will keep you posted as we evolve. Sunday, April 21, 2013. Talk about a busy week for me! Thursday night we, Linda cutting and Gillian and I packing, were busy getting the Amish With A Twist first installments ready for pick-up. In the meantime there were 4 large boxes of fabrics to unpack. 12 bolts of Kyota next to our gorgeous Champagne Lights. Then there are an additional 17 bolts of Honoka from Anna Griffin which is absolutely gorgeous!

Cock-A-Doodle Quilts is developing a new on-line presence. We will keep you posted as we evolve. Wednesday, December 19, 2012. There are no words. I now have a new "friend" at the front desk to help me greet you all when you come in, and although she does not have a name, her chest pin tells you that she belongs. Marjorie dropped her off yesterday - and she has taken a place of honour in the store! A gift that she knew I would cherish. And we can all relate to her vest pin - Fabric Addict! First I must r...

Cock-A-Doodle Quilts is developing a new on-line presence. We will keep you posted as we evolve. Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Where does it go. I have been focused - on quilting and preparing the newsletter which is about to hit the "waves". (Internet air waves.). On the home front, Amish With A Twist is coming along fine. I completed Block 12 - Birds In The Air and the extras for the first border. Block 12 - Birds In The Air. Then home to start the next stage of the Amish - sewing the setting blocks! Then ba...

Cock-A-Doodle Quilts is developing a new on-line presence. We will keep you posted as we evolve. Saturday, January 26, 2013. At 1:30 pm today I taught the Urban Pods class. The class really consists of learning how to use the Quick Curve Ruler (QCR) designed by Jenny Pedigo of Sew Kind of Wonderful. After they had gotten the hang of the technique, they began cutting and sewing their blocks (I expect photos ladies) and I set to making my second Urban Pods quilt.Needless to say, once I got started I co...

Cock-A-Doodle Quilts is developing a new on-line presence. We will keep you posted as we evolve. Monday, June 3, 2013. As much as I love gardening, quilting is still my passion and luckily it is shared my many other quilters. Babies are born and they need quilts to be bundled in, there are wedding quilts to do and milestone birthdays that deserve our very best gifts - quilts! There are those dreaded deadlines and so we continue to quilt. They held it up sideways but - still effective. Chris never ceases ...

Now that's been started so things are really moving along. I might even post a picture in a couple of days. I have to admit, I am getting very excited about the move. Still trying to figure out what will fit and what won't but that won't be decided until we start actually moving the furniture. Links to this post.

Tuesday, March 1, 2016. So much has happened since I last posted and I know I'm terrible about posting! I keep thinking I'm going to get better but for me life just seems to be slipping by and I'm wondering where it goes. I did get the other pillow finished for my in-laws with the church pointing the other direction and I did take a picture but of course it is on my actual camera at home! I'll try to post a picture soon. But this is alright with me I'm not a snow or cold person. I prefer warm weather!

Tuesday, June 23, 2009. I made a few for a friend and embellished them with buttons. I hope to have pics of kids wearing these soon. They look great on and are no crooked the way they look when I hang them up and forget to check that before taking the pic. I am making some that are 6 month size and will get pics up soon! Sunday, March 15, 2009. I have to admit I have not made many dresses lately BUT I am excited to see all the great spring prints and will be making dresses for the spring and summer!
