Musings on the creation of art, and life. Saturday, April 11, 2009. This is a pitcher that is a work in progress. Initially, the shape reminded me of a bird, so I decided to embelish it. It took quite a while to do all the carving by hand, but I did so enjoy the process. Since then, it has been bisqued, and I have glazed it.it is waiting for the fire. Growing up, I was fortunate to have a grandfather and father who were accomplished woodworkers. I spent many hours watching and helping them and eventually developed my own talents. I spent most of my adult life in an allied health field, but always kept my woodworking alive as a hobby. Now I have reached that stage of life when I can dedicate my full attention to my woodwork and with the emergence of Creekview Studio, I will have a fantastic space in which to work and create.
