Inquiry into police spying begins. Tuesday, 28 July, 2015. Lord Justice Pitchford today opened the public inquiry into police spying on justice campaigners and political activists between 1968 and 2010, BBC News. Theresa May ordered the inquiry after it was revealed that undercover police officers had spied on the family of Stephen Lawrence, Labour MPs, trade unionists and justice campaigns such as anti-racism groups. A different approach enabled Jenny to feel as though her life was more normal, and has allowed her to make several positive changes in her life. For the first eight years of a life sentence for killing her husband, Jenny was locked in a single cell. Then she transferred to her current prison where she now lives in a small unit with other women. She is no longer completely isolated and is able to make simple but important decisions for herself. She can also cook and do her own washing.
