Elk Springs (Glenwood Springs) Home Building Challenges

Adam Beal came to me while I was building another home in Elk Springs. Adam is very friendly and outdoorsy-we hit it off right away. Elk Springs can be a challenging place to build because of the layer of Basalt rock which lies about two feet blow the surface. Adam’s site required a lot of blasting, and I believe we trucked off nearly 100 loads of fractured rock. This home has about 3200 square feet, three bedrooms, 3-1/2 baths, granite countertops, radiant heating and a two car garage.

I got to know Jim and Nancy Young because our daughters were the same age and did many of the same sports and activities. Their home is actually a panelized log home kit from Whisper Creek Log Homes.
