Wednesday, August 16, 2006. Wed, 16 Aug, Wooleys(cw), then Disney- 7km -. Todays run was just a 'get out there and do it' run. Nothing spectacular. Nice steady pace, and not too far. I actually thought todays route was 6k's but going off the time, i think it is more likely to be 7. Headed out just before 3pm. Directly into the wind! Hips were a little rigid and shins were a tad sensitive too. I forgot my ipod, so the run felt like it doubled in time. Finished in 45.51mins. Max HR, 169-88%, Av 152-80%.

Friday, August 25, 2006. Fri 25 Aug, Nuns Walk- 10km. Collected the woman at 8.40am and headed straight down to the park. Took the very warm and cosy jumper off to get the teeth chatering and headed off on a planned slow and comfy 10k. Got to see many other runners out there today. Wednesday, August 30, 2006. Wed 30 Aug - Hastings return, 12km -. What a beautiful day! I was busting to leave work and get out into it. Put the 'ice' lotion on before leaving. Left at 2.30pm. Once i stepped outside from my place, i could actually feel the warmth. Singlet on. and off i went. Slow pace planned, but a long one as i won't be running again 'til Mon. I'm definitely not a happy camper today, a torn hamstring while playing touch has pretty much put paid to my thoughts of doing the Knox Half in December. Was really filthy after I had done it, as we were leading 7-0 and it was late in the game, and then it just popped! I could rant and rave, but that's not going to do me any good, so now it's focus on my recovery and make sure I do everything to avoid a recurrence.

Arriving at Docklands around 8am, I caught up with Clarkey, Pep, Marty, Beki and Michelle from the Ausrun forum. Went towards the start fairly early and warmed up alongside the water. I was thinking of doing a longer run tonight in preparation for the Knox Half, however after a solid speed session last night wiser heads prevailed. I decided on a different path, although not as scenic as my usual trail home, it made for a good change.
