Particular musings of a southern belle who found herself in London. Wednesday, 9 March 2011. Soho Top 5 pt. 1. So many places in Soho and not enough time. With close proximity to West End theaters and Chinatown, you can eat, drink, shop, see a play and visit a sex shop all in the same evening while seeing a C-list celebrity stumble out of a bar. This is one of my favorite areas of London, so I will be adding to this list. My picks for Soho:. 1 Algerian Coffee Shop. 3 Salsa and cigars at Floridita. The Bl...

martini girl: January 2012
http://martinigirl71.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Particular musings of a southern belle who found herself in London. Wednesday, 11 January 2012. Cocktails and Cabaret at Cafe de Paris. Ever since I bought a limited edition Liza Minelli inspired MAC makeup palette (circa 2003), I have adored cabaret. Perhaps it's the idea of wearing fishnets and false lashes in the debauched nightclubs of 1930's Berlin with my face made up like Liza (young Liza that is! However, I was pleased as punch to have finally found a decent cabaret show in London at Cafe De Paris.

Particular musings of a southern belle who found herself in London. Tuesday, 27 December 2011. Drinking in the dark at Gordon's Wine Bar. When I first ventured down the stairs to Gordon's Wine Bar,. I was convinced I was the only person in London who had never managed to brave the incredibly dark, narrow staircase in a pair of platforms! To my surprise, there were others behind us moving quite slowly with footwear trepidation. I didn't feel so bad. Reportedly London's oldest wine bar, Gordon's. My favori...

Particular musings of a southern belle who found herself in London. Sunday, 13 May 2012. Happy Anniversary to me. Yep that's a red velvet cupcake. I can't believe it. Three years ago today I landed at Heathrow. Armed only with my favorite vintage furs, two overstuffed suitcases, impractical-for-London-footwear and buckets of naive optimism. I had no idea what was in store for me. And unbelievably, I'm still here! As I wait anxiously for my tier 1 visa. 6 I now know I can do anything and that rocks. What ...

Particular musings of a southern belle who found herself in London. Friday, 7 January 2011. The Connaught Bar at the Connaught Hotel. Eric Lorincz, "best bartender in the world". Considering this is my first official post here, I of course had to write about where I think you can find the best martini in London! Last year by my socialite-friend-in-the-know Tina. The Connaught Hotel is a 5 star hotel in the heart of Mayfair. Which, as you can imagine, is equally as fantastic. A proper martini in my opinio...

Particular musings of a southern belle who found herself in London. Thursday, 24 May 2012. An Afternoon at The Pipe and Glass Inn in Beverley.
