the space in between: Finding the perichoresis at Earth Hour
http://chuckbaclagon.blogspot.com/2010/03/finding-perichoresis-at-earth-hour.html
Finding the perichoresis at Earth Hour. Chorea - dance, (cf Choreography). Perichorea - To dance around. In the beginning was the Dance, and the Dance was in God, and the Dance was God. An eternal Dance; the three persons of the Godhead dancing eternally, in an embrace of love, mutually giving and receiving. Always dancing. In the beginning God created a Dancing partner. The world was created in its own dance, and invited to join the Dance. But the lead dancers said No! Will you join the Dance? God's two...

the space in between: All Things New
http://chuckbaclagon.blogspot.com/2013/03/all-things-new.html
Behold I make all things new." Rev. 21:5. In an age of unfathomable pain and suffering; at a time of inconceivable disparity between rich and poor; amidst wars and rampant environmental destruction; does the promise of Jesus’ Easter, resurrection still make sense today? Behold I make all things new. Behold I make all things new. Behold I make all things new. The passage reminds us that, God will triumph over evil. Death will be overcome and new life will become reality. God’s promise will b...Is a call t...

http://chuckbaclagon.blogspot.com/2009/12/christmas-in-midst-of-climate-crisis.html
Christmas in the midst of a climate crisis. The other day I watched a Youtube video of the World Council of Churches Christmas message,. Given by its General Secretary Rev. Samuel Kobia who in his reflection on the 1st chapter of Paul’s Epistle to the Colossians he lamented:. Writing from a post-Copenhagen Summit. State of mind I cannot do anything more than silently nod in agreement and whisper: “how true…”. Christmas after the Copenhagen Summit. Christmas in the midst of climate change. Involved in the...

the space in between: When Harry Lee died
http://chuckbaclagon.blogspot.com/2015/03/when-harry-lee-died.html
When Harry Lee died. When Harry Lee died his neighbors from the north east cried and wished they had a leader much like him. Because he ushered progress. By wielding an iron fist. While we mourn his death and celebrate his achievements. Let us remember that Singapore's history cannot be simply reduced according to the account of its leader. Nor should we forget that this progress. Also came at a significant cost for human rights. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Maybe the banner was meant for them?

the space in between: digital metamorphosis (a short story)
http://chuckbaclagon.blogspot.com/2013/05/lockdown-short-story.html
Digital metamorphosis (a short story). Makati City. 8:15 AM. The train stops and the door slides open. Suddenly the empty MRT station bursts into a sea of people rushing amidst the morning rush hour in Ayala Avenue. The sight has been the norm for Simon, whose brisk walk suddenly turns into strides as he hurries off to his 8:30 meeting. Ironically, the chorus: " ♩. I’ve been working for the rat race…. Still hoping to make the most of the situation he gathers the courage to speak to one of the chained act...

the space in between: The Skeleton Years: Between Lunacy & You
http://chuckbaclagon.blogspot.com/2013/12/the-skeleton-years-between-lunacy-you.html
The Skeleton Years: Between Lunacy and You. It was a little more than a year ago when I had the privilege of watching them on their first gig and I was immediately hooked with the fascinating blend that somehow combines the post-punk sensibilities of Joy Division and the melodic melancholia punk rock of Alkaline Trio. It wasn’t until November that I was finally able to secure a copy of the CD when my band Death To Puberty again had the chance to be in the same line up with The Skeleton Years, at IDB.

My top ten favorite tumbling shots! I love traveling. ♥. Other travelers collect magnets, others collect coasters. i collect tumbling shots. I started collecting these in 2008. And so sadly, all my trips prior to that, i have no tumbling shots. and sadly, whenever i travel alone, no one is there to take my tumbling shot for me. :(. I now have over 70 tumbling shots, with multiple shots in one city. but counting only the really good ones, i am proud to say i have 48 kick ass tumbling shots. My brother, si...

The Killing Joke: Insanity and human perseverance. I remember buying this graphic novel back when I was still in high school, and it’s still really interesting how the story still strikes a chord with regards to my sympathetic appreciation of the most hated Batman’s enemies. 8220;Any man can have one really bad day and end up just like me.”. The life of the Joker in Alan Moore’. S, Batman: The Killing Joke reveals a tale of insanity and human perseverance. The Killing Joke perfectly complements the late ...

The Smashing Pumpkins: Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. I do not know of any person who doesn't like the Smashing Pumpkins and I mean who wouldn't? Listening to the record is like watching an episode of Bob Brush's, The Wonder Years where you feel a myriad of emotions that range from hope, hate, fear and excitement, and if you'd look at the way present rock outfits create conceptual albums you will not help but notice that most of them are just trying to re-capture the spirit of Mellon Collie.

3 Cheers for Filipino ‘Christian’ mediocrity. Christians in Context made this humorous blog about the 10 Marks of a Mainline Evangelical. Inspired by their post I made this one to fit the Philippine context:. 20 Thinks that Martin Luther founded Christianity, because there’s no way those Catholic heathens. 19 Thinks that the name of their religion is Born Again. 18 Considers Alberto comics. Tracts as accurate historical documents that implicates the Roman Catholic Church as the Whore of Babylon. 12 Think...
