Monday, March 16, 2015. Two Doctor Who Season 12 crocheted scarves are completed. Here is a pic of them before tails were sewn in and fringe/tassels added. 658 rows per scarf for a total of 1316 rows. 23030 stitches (35 per row) for each scarf for a total of 46060 stitches. 53 stripes of color per scarf for a total of 106 stripes done. BTW, there were in the area of 100 tails on EACH scarf! I watched several episodes of Smallville while I took care of those things. ;-). Why am I telling you all this?

Thursday, July 9, 2015. Today I completed a mandala designed by Marinke, who recently passed away - you can read her story online, links in a past post. You can read about the Mandalas for Marinke project. I decided to start with the 12 round standard mandala. I'm not sure my own project is art show worthy, but I enjoyed making it. Update: I forgot to mention the colors. This is Knit Picks Comfy Sport. I will probably make another mandala but I haven't decided on the pattern yet. I have several free ...

Sunday, July 12, 2015. I finished another mandala. The project is #MandalasforMarinke. Created in memory of Marinke Slump. You can keep up with things on this project and others at the Facebook page for Crochet Concupiscence. I actually like this one better than the first one but it curls some (which she does say it might on the pattern). I'm making an effort to block it now. Heh I don't block many things so . we'll see. I just wet it and pinned it down. The pattern is Marinke's Summer Hearts. Over the p...

Thursday, April 30, 2015. I picked up some Bernat Baby Blanket. Yarn the other day and decided to make hats out of it. I know it's not the normal yarn for hats, particularly this colorway (Pitter Patter), but it is very soft and I thought it might be a nice, comfy covering for the head. The yarn comes in several nice colors, but the store I was at did not have any solid colors, only a few of the variegated ones. The next one is 12, 24, 36, 48, 48. 60. 60. 72, 72, 84 x 5,5 rounds of sc, one ro...The next ...

The patterns are at Ravelry. Suzie's Little Angel Bookmark.

With Hook In Hand: Pattern - SUNNY RIBBED HAT
http://withhookinhand.blogspot.com/p/sunny-ribbed-hat.html
With Hook In Hand. Pattern - SUNNY RIBBED HAT. From time-to-time, I adapt patterns for my own use. The following started life as an afghan square, but I've converted it into a hat pattern:. FPdc (Front Post double crochet):. Yo, insert hook from. Front to back to front around post of indicated st; yo and. Draw up lp, [yo and draw through 2 lps on hook] twice. I don’t know if I’ve ever made this hat the same way twice. I’ll give the basic pattern here. 8220;G” hook. When lying flat, the height is 6”.

With Hook In Hand. Monday, June 17, 2013. Welcome knitter/crocheter Karina Aguirre. It delights me that SASsy Stitchers is truly an international community. With Hook In Hand: April 2013

With Hook In Hand. Sunday, April 28, 2013. I often see people complain about the gap which can exist in their crochet squares. Here's the solution I found:. First of all, after the first round, rather than do the standard ch3, only do ch2. Rather than go into the top of the ch of the previous row,. You go into the front two loops of the stitch to the left of it. Then ch2 and go back into the same space. Et voila; no gap. Wednesday, April 24, 2013. With a little help from my friend. I started the blanket ...

Yarns, Hooks and Patterns We Love (and those we don't). Friday, November 5, 2010. Another pattern I found in my Heirloom Afghans book. Everyone seems to love this pattern, I'm making my third one, and I have a few other people who want one too! The difficulty level is intermediate, I think because it takes so long to string the pearls, but other than that, it's pretty easy. This pattern utilizes V stitches, Double V stitches, and Single Bead Crochet stitches, all very simple. Try it, you'll love it!
