The Cause

Bike, Build, Blog. Zen and the Art of Dropping Everything to Make a Difference. What is affordable housing? The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) considers housing to be affordable to a low-income family as long as the cost of housing, including rent or mortgage/tax payments plus basic utilities minus telephone and internet service, does not exceed 30% (before taxes). How much does a household have to make annually to qualify as low. What is the "Fair Market Rent" (FMR)? View my complete ...

Bike, Build, Blog. Zen and the Art of Dropping Everything to Make a Difference. Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Day 44 - Mosquero, NM. Our ride today took us into our smallest town yet! A town of just 100 people proved to be very difficult to get to but also very interesting once there. We had an awesome ride in on some of the emptiest roads we've seen so far, feeling great with our tailwind in and stopping to climb a random windmill! Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Day 43 - Clayton, NM. We've reached New Mexico!

Bike, Build, Blog. Zen and the Art of Dropping Everything to Make a Difference. Sunday, November 22, 2015. Strange, this blog still exists. Not to worry, I'm alive! For many reasons, I've been caught up in a world quite outside the one of social media and online stuff. but I'm back! My apologies to everyone that I let this drop to the wayside and never finished my stories from the road! So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support and for your patience! So stay tuned and remember.

Bike, Build, Blog. Zen and the Art of Dropping Everything to Make a Difference. In order to successfully pull off this trip, each participant has been asked to raise $4500. By keeping costs low and seeking the charity of strangers along the way (floors to sleep on, showers to clean ourselves up, etc.), only about half of this goes towards supporting the trip, while the rest is distributed directly back to the affordable housing movement in 4 separate ways:. All donations, no matter what size. Alternative...

http://morgansbikeandbuild.blogspot.com/2016/06/chillin-in-pa.html
Two Wheels, One Hammer. Friday, June 17, 2016. Lots of riding days, lots to update about! I'm going to try to bullet point as much as possible so that I can finally catch up and get on track. Slept in a prep school in a huge gym. Got to ride with Caitlyn for the first day! It's really great and weird at the same time having one of my best and oldest friends on my trip. It's adding a lot of value to my summer and givng me a partner in crime and someone to go to when I need support :). Made it to New York!

It was a jammed packed day for all of us and we were exhausted! First ride day was great! We did the wheel dip over in India Point park...

Two Wheels, One Hammer. Saturday, August 23, 2014. Lee Vining, CA. I rode with Colleen and Greg again! I always ride with them but we always have so much fun. We all knew that we were going to have some major climbing to do today but we also knew that it meant that we would be able to get out of the desert! At mile 12, the climb started! Lone Pine and Dixon Lane-Meadow Creek, CA. I had a really great ride to Lone Pine! We were actually very spoiled! The nest day was a very similar ride to the day before&...

Two Wheels, One Hammer. Monday, December 15, 2014. When I was on the plane home from California to Charlotte, I wrote a reflection in my computer so that it would be fresh and right after my experience. Here it is:. I rode from Jacksonville Florida to Monterey California on my bicycle. There were so many things in between all of those huge places too! It's crazy to think that I can officially pinpoint and name the all-time best day of my life. Pleasanton and Hollister, CA. We only had to 56 miles (which ...

Two Wheels, One Hammer. Tuesday, May 31, 2016. The first van day. Yesterday was our first time in the van! Travis and I got up around 8 to get the van and hit the road! From Philadelphia, we rode about an hour north to get Nate and then another hour to pick up Carlee. At Carlee's house, we had lunch with her family and took some time to relax, which was really great! Having a full van feels really great and it's definitely starting to sink in that I'm doing bike and build again! Sunday, May 29, 2016.

Two Wheels, One Hammer. Sunday, September 7, 2014. Finally) and Day off! Finally, the day we all had been waiting for! At the beginning of the trip, I said that going to Yosemite was what I was looking forward to the most and even though it wasn't going to be how I imagined, I couldn't contain my excitement! I really appreciated the people I was with on this day. We all really just let go of everything and were completely oddballs together. It was so much fun! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Two Wheels, One Hammer. Sunday, October 18, 2015. We Got the Band Back Together. Low - my quickly approaching graduation date and extreme fear and uncertainty for the future. The second I walk off that stage, I have zero plans, I have no agenda, I have nothing prepared and it is a crippling and awful fear. At the same time, it's amazing. I can do anything!
