As the Gong Tolls

As the Gong Tolls. Andrea's adventures while teaching English in China. The one who removes a mountain begins by removing small stones. Thursday, November 4, 2010. I've officially been home from China for as long as I was there- WOW! That is truly hard to believe! I have a many thoughts on the subject. Like how expensive everything is at home. I have bought one pair of shoes since I've been home. They cost $7. I bought a skirt. It was $5. That's basically the extent of my shopping. All of my Spanish has ...

http://www.crouchingtiger-hiddenlamb.blogspot.com/2010/06/crazy-i-was-crazy-once.html

As the Gong Tolls. Andrea's adventures while teaching English in China. The one who removes a mountain begins by removing small stones. Sunday, June 13, 2010. I was crazy once. Here are some symptoms of living in China for 4 months…. Hugging random chicken men. Willingly eating chicken feet. Waiting in general does interesting things to people. For some reason waiting for buses is especially bad. We have learned to find just about anything to entertain ourselves. Waiting rots the brain! I have become a p...

As the Gong Tolls. Andrea's adventures while teaching English in China. The one who removes a mountain begins by removing small stones. Monday, March 29, 2010. Okay so I've been really bad at blogging lately. I don't know if it's the pressure of being able add pictures now, or that I've not felt creative enough to write about anything, or that we've been doing way too many exciting things too often that it just builds up! Before I go to Sanya this weekend I will:. 1) Teach the children an Easter song.

As the Gong Tolls. Andrea's adventures while teaching English in China. The one who removes a mountain begins by removing small stones. Sunday, January 31, 2010. Here's what today's quiet Sunday activities consisted of at home:. Isaac with Kirby, who happens to be eating a cheese sandwich. Joe with a pokeball he constructed using a toy pokeball as a mold (so clever! I think after 19 years of living on this earth I may have finally. I'll be a rock star of the play dough world ;). Tuesday, May 3, 2011. My Plan B is God's Plan A. Ever since i was little I have made a plan, which usually includes about 10 years ahead in life! It's a curse of my OCD :) However, lately I have been feeling as though I have gone down a different path, taken different turns, decisions my 15 year old self would not have seen coming. I worry a lot about if what I am doing is best for me, if this is what will make me truly happy. Welcome to Holland by Emily Perl Kingsley. I signed up for Italy! This is who ...

Thursday, August 18, 2011. Glacier, Montana. and Canada, Eh? About a week ago my family and I went on an amazing trip to Glacier, Montana and Waterton, Canada! It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been! We did lots of hiking, fishing and saw some beautiful sights! This was our first stop; Goat Lick :) Not entirely sure why. I didn't see any goats! This was a short little hike off the road; yet it was probably one of our favorite spots! More Falls along Virginia and Mary Falls! This summer I...

Kung-Fu Manda!: House Visits

http://kung-fu-manda.blogspot.com/2010/06/house-visits.html

Friday, June 18, 2010. Throughout the semester the student's Chinese teachers go and visit the kids while at their homes. We were able to go two nights and visit William, John, Howard, and Zhenzhen. It was really interesting to see the Chinese home life, and to see the differences as we went from home to home. This is William at his house. It is a duplex style with a home connected on the left side. Her pond full of fish. The view of her backyard from above. He sat there and counted all of them! She live...

Wednesday, April 28, 2010. He was sure of it, until another kid told him "no teen". then he started rocking me like a baby. Yes, my first day as an adult and I was rocked and sung "I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee won't my mommy be so proud of me.". The poster my kids made me. Some of the kids in our class. After class I was whisked away by Tiffany and Shaw to get my hair washed, while everyone else went to Kung-Fu. Digging out the skin in a swirly pattern. Can you see the excitement on my face? Yes th...

It was supposed to be a one hour dinner date. but after walking him around the corner he announces that he doesn't want to eat there! So off we go on a "Chinese experience.". Crouching Squirrel Hidden Monkey. Oregon trails 'n tales. Sunday, December 07, 2008. Eso Blogo es Muerto. Not much going on here huh? I originally started this blog to talk about biking and racing and training and other outdoor adventures. But since I don't train or race seriously anymore, general adventure stuff can just go in my other blog. So as a parting shot, here's my conclusions and analyses from this year. Spent more time on the mountain bike too. But then came the races with lots of climbing, li...
