2012 Whistle Punk Winemaker’s Notes. The 2012 growing season was a vast improvement over the previous two seasons. It was relatively warm from spring through the end of October. No mid October frost or rains which was the case in 2010. All in all, a very decent vintage. The grapes utilized to make this wine were harvested from the first through the fourth week of October. What an amazing wine! Petite Sirah from the Verhey Vineyard. Malbec both from the Bouy Vineyard. 55 grams per liter. 12 pm to 6 pm.

This past weekend Emily and I made the obligatory trek to the middle of Washington state to dust off our little summer place, clean the boat, and soak up a little sunshine. We left on Saturday around noon with no real plan other than grab a coffee and point the wagon east. Lacking any sort of real agenda we decided to travel over Stevens Pass via Hwy 2 then stop in Leavenworth.
