Tung Oil is a drying oil obtained by pressing the seed of the Tung tree. It dries hard and transparent. It is believed to have originated in China. The writings of Confucius, from about 400 B.C., mention Tung Oil. This is a generic name for a variety of petroleum based stains and finishes. It penetrates into the wood instead of all staying on the surface. It is a good way in which to seal and stain wood. Hosting by 1and1.com.
