Passed away yesterday at the age of 94. That’s a good age for any man – especially one who lived life as fully and completely as Seeger. We don’t get enough Pete Seegers in the world. Perhaps some day we’ll deserve them. Perhaps some day we won’t need them. But we’ll always want them. I grew up with Seeger’s music. My Mom had a great collection of 78’s of Seeger and The Weavers. This is my Mountain of Laundry: December 2011
http://www.mountainoflaundry.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Airing it out, clean or otherwise since 2008. For entertainment and recreational purposes only). Friday, December 16, 2011. It's a Wonderful Life. Sitting in front of the fire, contented beyond anything I've ever known, I face my third Christmas with Mark and family. So I managed a few more gifties for the kids this year - fewer of them from a thrift store than in years past. I didn't go overboard by any means, and under the tree are the usual socks, pants, toothbrushes and lip balm, but the extras t...

Airing it out, clean or otherwise since 2008. For entertainment and recreational purposes only). Monday, August 15, 2011. Because it would be flat-out wrong. For my life to move forward in a linear, uneventful fashion, on the eve of my Just-Right-Job-Offer. My landlord called to let me know he needed to sell the house. My precious Casa del Mar will be turned over to some other family so they may reap the benefits of its love. I've felt it since the first day. I remember when I was getting ready to leave.

The Ink-Stained Wretch: The Gel-Bot wants to be your friend and would never enslave you for its own purposes

Laquo; Taking the Piss. May 02, 2011. The Gel-Bot wants to be your friend and would never enslave you for its own purposes. Has recently returned from Mrs. Cruft's ancestral homeland bearing gifts. He knew two things about me: I love me some cycling gadgets and I'm cheap, so I buy my Hammer Gel in bulk. Buying the gel in bulk is a bit cheaper, and eliminates the little foil packets that have to be thrown away and make things pretty sticky on a long ride. So, what is the Gel-Bot? So, how does it work?

The Ink-Stained Wretch: January 2007 Archives

Laquo; December 2006. April 2007 ». January 30, 2007. Frankly, I'm Beginning to Doubt My Commitment to Sparkle Motion. Not sure when it happened that I started looking back more than I look ahead. It used to be when, when, when- I was sure that the best was in front of me and I would get there eventually, now I'm not sure. And for this I blame Thomas Pynchon. So, why has Pynchon's newest sent me into such a tailspin of self-doubt? After all, I confidently skimmed through much of Vineland. And I'm happy t...
