Messing About In The Boat: GPS and Depth
http://messingaboutintheboat.blogspot.com/2010/04/gps-and-depth.html
Messing About In The Boat. I'm adding a Raymarine ST50 Depth and a Magellan FX324 MAP Color chartplotter to the bulkhead of my Beneteau 235, to join my compass. But first, I have to plug the old holes. Videos and fully story after the break:. I had mentioned that the 3M DP-8005 was hard to find. To get it, I went to my go-to place for exotic (and they carry non-exotic) hardware and supplies. Grainger. Need a M4x16 machine-head bolt in stainless? They stock them in two alloys! Messing About In The Boat: Ports!
http://messingaboutintheboat.blogspot.com/2010/04/ports.html
Messing About In The Boat. I just added two Gebo non-opening ports the hull of my Beneteau 235. They look pretty damn good. Here's the story in three videos and a couple of pictures mixed in, right after the break:. As mentioned in the video, here are the nails stuck thru the hull, with the cutout outline. And then on the inside, with the template placed on the nails to draw the outline and cut away the hull liner. Another video, looking around again from the inside when the boat is finally on the water!

Messing About In The Boat: Roller Furler
http://messingaboutintheboat.blogspot.com/2010/04/roller-furler_04.html
Messing About In The Boat. I'm in the process of adding a roller furling system to the boat. The biggest job is figuring what model to go with, and if or what you want to do to the bow pulpit's forward post, which on the Beneteau 235 can interfere with the drum. See the intro video after the break:. Lets look at the sail mods. I'm using my 115% blade-style jib on my roller. Notice how low the clew is. The angle of this picture really for-shortens the sail. It's 27 feet along the luff! Projects In The Head.

Messing About In The Boat: About the Beneteau First 235
http://messingaboutintheboat.blogspot.com/p/about-beneteau-first-235.html
Messing About In The Boat. About the Beneteau First 235. Within this shape Finot worked his magic; and the resulting room rivals much larger boats. Only the lack of true standing headroom (a still very respectable 5.5 foot) reminds you this boat is only 21.5 feet long. With her dual double berths, full galley and enclosed marine head, she is a proper little yacht. A picture from the inside shows the room available. A very comfortable place to be. Here is a page from the US brochure:. Belying its size, th...

Messing About In The Boat. About This Blog (how it works). Most if not all of the entries I will do here will be shot in HD video. They will play in a small window in the blog, but you can always click on the window to bring it up in full-screen HD. That will be handy for seeing some of the smaller details. I'll also be shooting the shots in one-take, to save on any post-editing. More details after the video. For a tripod, I use the ultra-cool Joby Gorillapod. See more HERE. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
