Blog Roll and links. Travels of the Infinite Sea. The adventures of Paul and Stephanie aboard the MV Infinite Sea. Day 2-3 Bahama Bound 2. May 10, 2016. Day break came early, but it sure was pretty. Day 2 started at the crack of dawn with alarms buzzing so that we could be at the Moore Haven lock for its first opening of the day. What followed was a long day moving east across the state. We were passed by the fast boat flotilla soon after we reached the lake. Inspite of the longer than anticipated journe...

Blog Roll and links. Travels of the Infinite Sea. The adventures of Paul and Stephanie aboard the MV Infinite Sea. Days 7-8 and The Crossing. April 12, 2015. Entering Lake Worth on a nice Friday, oh my…. Our day at Old Port Cove Marina accomplished several last minute tasks like troubleshooting the Captains cell phone (which he uses for anchor alarm and back up navigation) which wouldn’t charge, last minute grocery run, and laundry. The seas finally calmed just 15 miles from the island and we enjoyed an ...

Blog Roll and links. Travels of the Infinite Sea. The adventures of Paul and Stephanie aboard the MV Infinite Sea. Day 5-6 Lake Okachobee to Lake Worth. April 9, 2015. This captain was the last in and first out, he backed out of the narrow channel before turning around. Glad we were in early. Is it just me? I always wonder if they will get the bridge working when I see them repairing it. Bridge closures seemed to be the theme of this run. The bridge immediately after the lock was down with a repair c...

Blog Roll and links. Travels of the Infinite Sea. The adventures of Paul and Stephanie aboard the MV Infinite Sea. Bahamas Bound Day 1-3. April 4, 2015. When we completed the Loop back in November, it was our intention to stay close to the dock for the rest of the season before the Infinite Sea went on the hard for the season. But always on our mind was, “What’s next? When the Captain proposed we try it out by cruising to the Bahamas before putting the boat on the hard, who was going to say no? After con...
Our Loop Plans | Travels of the Infinite Sea
https://cruisingwiththecarricos.wordpress.com/our-loop-plans
Blog Roll and links. Travels of the Infinite Sea. The adventures of Paul and Stephanie aboard the MV Infinite Sea. We purchased Infinite Sea with the idea in the back of our minds that we may one day want to do the loop. Once she was ours we realized that if we were going to do the loop, it should get done before we get too committed elsewhere in our lives to break away. Tentative Route to Michigan. In August we will pull up anchor again and head up under the Mackinaw Bridge and down Lake Michigan to Chi...

Adagio: July 2015
http://tugadagio.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. 7/31/15 Cleveland to Geneva on the Lake State Park. Shortly before entering the harbor at Geneva, our rudder angle sensor seemed to stop working. Ron took it off "navigate" and seemed to gain some manual control. The hard part was entering the harbor with beamy seas and limited steering. Once in the marina, the steering seemed to return to normal. Links to this post. 7/30/15 Second day in Cleveland. We should have made our own decision, because it was not good. I ordered a pork...

Sunday, August 2, 2015. 8/1/15 Geneva on the Lake, OH to Erie, PA. I said, "Could you give me that number? Dock hand, "I have no idea what it is". Adagio: 8/10/15 Buffalo Launch Club to Brockport
http://tugadagio.blogspot.com/2015/08/81015-buffalo-launch-club-to-brockport.html
Friday, August 14, 2015. 8/10/15 Buffalo Launch Club to Brockport. We reluctantly left BLC, one of our favorite all time marinas, and headed for the Erie Canal. We purchased a 10 day pass ($37.50) and traveled almost 70 miles to Brockport. There are many small towns, bridges and locks on the Erie Canal. Many of the fixed bridges are very low…the lowest is 14.5 feet and you must be able to get under this bridge. That keeps many boats from enjoying this part of the Canal. I’ll go and look.”. These small to...
Adagio: 8/4/15 Still in Erie
http://tugadagio.blogspot.com/2015/08/8415-still-in-erie.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. 8/4/15 Still in Erie. Today was a work day. Ron washed the boat which was covered with bugs, and I did the laundry. Three meals meant lots of cooking, but it was nice to eat on board. We are expecting flat seas on Thursday, so tomorrow will be our last day here. We plan to make the 100 mile trip to Buffalo if conditions are good. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Friday, August 14, 2015. 8/12/15 Fairport to Newark, NY. The temp today was cool and we had some rain. Newark was recommended to us by several people, for good reason. This has been the friendliest reception we've had. The dockmaster came out to greet us and invited us to the office when it was convenient for us. They have free dockage along the town wall and free laundry, nice restrooms and showers in the dock master’s office building. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). We started the "Great Loop" when...

Cambria's Capers - The Adventures Continue Aboard M/V Cambria. Monday, March 16, 2015. 3/16/15 - Berwick City Dock. We left about 8:20 and went right through the Bayou Dularge Bridge with no problem. We had to wait just a bit but no problem. Barge traffic was terrible. Because of the heavy fog this past week all of them were stacked up. We had to wait about and hour and then we were waived through. Well not exactly. Exciting day. I'll rest now. We will plan the next leg of the trip later. The S/V Cambria...

Cruising with Ros the Bosun
Cruising with Ros the Bosun. Wednesday, October 6, 2010. The end of the beginning. A beautiful overnight sail on a calm sea brough us to the major port of La Rochelle - yachts, yachts, everywhere. Entering a marina with 3,500 berths (many with 3 yachts rafted together) was mind-blowing - masts as far as you could see in all directions. What a different world! Another comfortable evening sail brought us to Port Medoc, on the massive? I'm back in Darwin now; but 'getting back on the horse' - this afternoon...

Cruising with Sandy & Chuck on Summer Wind
Cruising with Sandy and Chuck on Summer Wind. Wednesday, April 20, 2016. 4-8-16, Snorkeling in Sombrero Key. While staying in Marathon, we’ve been asking around about diving in the area, but somehow we didn’t ask the right people, or we didn’t ask the right questions. NOBODY TOLD US HOW EASY THIS WOULD BE! Leaving Boot Key Harbor. Passing the Seven Mile Bridge. We had read that there were mooring buoys on the south side of the lighthouse. Yes! Approaching Sombrero Key, on a beautiful clear day. We stayed...

Cruising with the Carr's
Cruising with the Carr's. Sunday, December 21, 2014. The morning of November 4. The relief was not long term, but it was a welcomed break in back labor. At 9 centimeters I was walking around, chatting with the hubs, and taking selfies. I even decided to rest and dozed off briefly in the bed. Selfie at 9 cm! Finally, my water broke, the baby girl decended, turned, and it was pushing time. I know some ladies who pushing is their favorite part, but it is my least favorite part! The nurse took Abigail to the...
