The Tale of Bad Behaviour | Tales of a Reluctant Mother
https://crummymommy.wordpress.com/2013/11/18/the-tale-of-bad-behaviour
Tales of a Reluctant Mother. Finding the humour in everyday (bad) parenting. The Tale of Bad Behaviour. November 18, 2013. She’s either in training to be the worst criminal ever (“911? Are there any patrol cars near such-and-such address? I’m about to rob a liquor store”), or she’s developing a conscience. In her defence, she felt very miserable when her bad deeds were exposed, and she was. Sharing with her sister (you know, honour among thieves). Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Tales of a Reluctant Mother. Finding the humour in everyday (bad) parenting. The Tale of the Double-Team. December 14, 2013. Sometimes in defending our rationale for stopping at 2 rugrats (why do we even have to defend this? We gave the world two beautiful, charming, intelligent, funny, darling girls, isn’t that enough? My husband or I will quip that we didn’t want to be outnumbered. Two parents vs two kids. Even teams, right? That is the theory. Here is our reality. Huh, crickets in December. Odd. Enter...

Tales of a Reluctant Mother. Finding the humour in everyday (bad) parenting. The Tale of the Music Ban. December 3, 2013. I’d like to call for a ban on the use of songs in the kindergarten classroom. I imagine studies have been conducted on the pedagogical merits of melodies when instructing young children, but have there been any studies on the sanity of the parents who have to endure endless singing when those children bring those songs home? Are royalties being earned? 2 responses ». You are commentin...

Tales of a Reluctant Mother. Finding the humour in everyday (bad) parenting. The Tale of Seduction. January 13, 2014. I am attracted to you like our 2-year-old and 5-year-old are attracted to puddles. I yearn for you the way I yearn for coffee the morning after I’ve been awake all night with a puking kid. I would give up a month of turns sleeping in for a moment in your arms. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Click to email (Opens in new window).

canugirl | My Father's Daughter
https://canugirl.wordpress.com/author/canugirl
My Father's Daughter. August 2, 2012. There is a small rabbit dying outside my office window today. It is breaking my heart – open wounds, broken bones surrounded by delicate fur. We debated trying to save it but can see the futility of that course of action. My father would shoot it, but as my husband is not a hunter or gun person (thank you, God) we are letting nature take its course. I wish I could do more – offer comfort, provide healing, take it in my hands and stroke away fear. I am sensitive. ...
Crafts and Math: Christmas Sewing
http://craftsandmath.blogspot.com/2015/01/christmas-sewing.html
And other things I love. Friday, January 9, 2015. I wasn’t planning on doing any Christmas sewing this year, but then I saw the Have Yourself a Quilty Little Christmas Instagram Sew Along. That Lori Holt at Bee in My Bonnet. I found a Christmasy fabric for the backing, and a nice tan and red plaid for the binding, and went to town quilting it. I machine quilted it - and that was a. Huge step for me. Not so great stitching on the back. Your ginger bread piece turned out beautifully. Meet my dear Jonny.

And other things I love. Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Sometimes, when you've been working on the same project for a while, it's nice to have some quick wins. On Sunday, I put together a self-binding receiving blanket. I mostly used the Cuddle Baby Self-binding Receiving Blanket. Tutorial found at the Shannon Fabrics Blog. Finishing things really does feel good. Wednesday, August 20, 2014. We picked her up and headed to Stratford to see Crazy for You. Stuck in our heads ever since the show. Today we tried ...
Crafts and Math: Busy As a Beaver
http://craftsandmath.blogspot.com/2015/06/busy-as-beaver.html
And other things I love. Saturday, June 13, 2015. Busy As a Beaver. I haven't been blogging recently because I have been working on finishing up a quilt for a friend's son. It is a double-sized quilt and is by far the largest quilt I have ever made. Plus, I had to learn how to machine quilt to make it. Pictures will be posted once I take them. N top of that, I am away from home this week, and couldn't bring any of the project with me. Just caught up with you tonight. Hope the project is going well. The D...

And other things I love. Thursday, May 22, 2014. So, I finished the quilt top I was working on and set it off to my friend to get quilted. Apparently I forgot to take pictures of the finished product, so you will have to settle for pictures of the finished top. Here's a close up of my seam. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Crafts and Math: October 2014

And other things I love. Friday, October 3, 2014. Postcards from Muskoka at Thimbles and Things. Each store had their own completed version of the quilt. They generally used the same colours for things, but would use different fabrics. We enjoyed comparing all the different versions. The blocks we looked at the most for the comparison were the campfire and the northern lights (not seaweed like I originally thought). After leaving Orillia, we headed to Barrie. Our first stop was Simcoe Sew and Quilt.

And other things I love. Thursday, January 15, 2015. There was only one thing I asked for for Christmas this year and that was a pair of gaiters. I really enjoy getting out for a quick cross country ski last winter, but I usually end up blazing my own trail which means I am sometimes in up to knee-deep snow. Last year that made for some very wet pant bottoms. This year my problems are solved. I went out for my first ski of the year and my pants stayed nice and dry! Friday, January 9, 2015. Overall I am v...

Crafts and Math: January 2014
http://craftsandmath.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
And other things I love. Sunday, January 19, 2014. On Friday I cleaned up my craft room (which for the last month and a half or more I have just been shifting the mess around). I now have all my flat surfaces, including my floor back. With that out of the way, I was able to start back into a project I started in October or November. I keep the squares on a flannel sheet for easy transport. Since they don't move around much on there. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Meet my dear Jonny.
Crafts and Math: A Royal Visit
http://craftsandmath.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-royal-visit.html
And other things I love. Monday, June 1, 2015. On Thursday, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima (of the Netherlands) came to Waterloo. A few coworkers and I went to see them when they came. They had even rolled out an orange carpet for them. Unfortunately, they were running late, so we only got a quick wave and a good morning, but it was still a fun experience. I even went and got a new outfit for the experience - I wanted something orange :). June 2, 2015 at 10:38 PM. View my complete profile. Around...

Dell Bluetooth 365 on Windows 10. August 10, 2015. I’m desperately waiting for my parts from Short Block Technologies. Thus I spent no doubt a good 4 hours or so troubleshooting/uninstalling/fiddling/thissing/thatting the Bluetooth device and software on my trusty old beast. There are a few forum posts indicating this and that, try Lenovo software, try Broadcom’s update, try old drivers in compatibility mode. It all sucked. The solution is to use some older Lenovo software. 750 SX Hull Cleanout. 03-Aug-2...

Crummy Mummy (who drinks)
Sunday, 31 December 2017. Thank Feck for that. And so it is we come to say Goodbye to 2017. It was a wrong 'un on so many levels for me - personally. so I am more than ecstatic to see in 2018. In spite of all the difficulties - often it felt like I was wading through treacle - I feel I learned a lot. It is often out of the darkest times that you really do see what your mettle is made of - what you can accept, what you can change and what work you still have to do on yourself.
