I received the updated camera software on my phone yesterday while I was playing with my dog at the park. I ignored the new feature thinking it was just a goofy gimmick. But then this morning I read the details about Lens Blur on Google's blog. And now I can't stop playing with my camera! This is so neat!

The intensity map below shows it was centered just a few short miles from my house. See the official USGS event report for technical details. We had a great time playing in the sand and freezing our butts off in the ocean. I recorded a ton of video and took a bunch of pictures. I even brought my GoPro. My son and I love to watch these videos late at night before going to bed. They use a Phantom Flex. High speed digital camera that can record 1080p high-def at up to 2500 frames per seconds. If you have the cash you can buy one or rent one for the weekend at AbelCine. We both laughed so hard we were crying!
