Some rocks look like wood. They just do. In no way could I have been expected to help myself. Look at the dashing men! Sam is sporting his NPS hat. It inspired an inordinate amount of confidence (in him, from Jake and me). As Jake noted, we didn't pack a compass, we brought a ranger! We are a lucky underemployed and uncommitted bunch. Jake cruised in on the train from Denver. I joined some friends on their southern Utah spring break roadtrip. Next thing we know, bam! Cruisin' through Goblin Valley SP.

http://flyfriendfly.blogspot.com/p/teaching-in-turkey.html

Vege on the Edge
http://vegeontheedge.blogspot.com/2011/11/so-in-some-ways-this-week-has-been.html
Vege on the Edge. Saturday, November 19, 2011. So, in some ways this week has been really great. In other ways it has been the week straight from hell. Let's talk about the good things: I am going to my first Turkish wedding tonight, where I will wear a new pink dress that I like very much. What could be better? I don't know. But if I could find corn syrup and rice crispies you know what I'd be doing! I don't honestly know. But, I'm sticking to it, so that has got to be worth something. I can't think of ...

So, at the end of my previous post, I alluded to crazy happenings and good stories from my Kurban Bayram holiday. brain or shine: April 2011
http://brainorshine.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, 17 April 2011. I'm having trouble carrying a thought out for more than a few sentences. It was strange going back to work after Becky. Returned home to Chicago. However, I've since been resolved to get out of the house more. There's so many cool things to do nearby - I need to experience more of them. Probably one that I don't need to experience more of is Casa Bonita. Which is supposedly a restaurant but more likely, as one disenchanted employee put it, the lovechild of DisneyLand and Tijuana.

brain or shine: July 2010
http://brainorshine.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Monday, 12 July 2010. Happy birthday, Emmalyn! Sunday, 4 July 2010. July, July, July-y-y-y. I'm spending my fourth playing with this puppy. He doesn't have a name, yet, but I've been calling him Buster, Peanut Butter, Louis (as in Armstrong), Pickle, Bowzer, Girl Scout, Robin (as in Hood), Butternut (as in squash), and Dumpling (which my boyfriend says isn't manly enough). Tonight we'll light off small fireworks. Good times. Tags: (less than three). Weather of the mind. Crustacean island (travel blog).
