I was recently invited on a trip up and over Rug Road to Aravaipa Canyon by Wildcat Off Road. Wildcat Off Road is an off road group put together by University of Arizona students. I decided to head up to the Gap yesterday to test out some recent modifications and work on my photography, which by the way i'm still terrible! Chippy ready and excited to be in his natural environment! Some bee's doing what they do along the way. I have been real happy with the new ome coils and rear sway bar removal, nice and smooth flex in the rear. The tires still don't rub since Jake modified the rear bumper. Ocotillo's starting to pop! The White Mountain Indian Reservation had beautiful scenery and great weather when we visited in the Fall of 09. We left Phoenix on a Wednesday Morning and made our way toward Payson. You could really see the weather buildings up as soon as we got on the beeline. As soon as we got to Payson, KABOOM! We hit heavy rain and even some hail. Last Minute Trip To The Chiricahua's! We made a trip to a 24 hour walmart, got the food beverage and made our way toward the Chiricahua's! Changing my oil and topping off power steering fluid at midnight! Preston arrives on the scene at 1:30am. Getting down to business on Preston's oil situation. Half way up the mountain at 9:00am, so we decided to take a break. We needed it as the coffee and 5 hour energy supplements weren't much competition for our fatigue. Which had this view! Like last year, we decided to incorporate some pre and post-event activities around the Fat Tire Toys for Tots event we volunteer for every year. Our first stop would be Childs, then the bike/overland route that would take us from Flagstaff to the south rim of the Grand Canyon all off highway.
