Mary has been sewing from a very early age but did not attempt patchwork and quilting until 1998. She quilts most days: if she has a choice quilting always wins. Luckily she gets a lot of encouragement from her No. 1. Mary is also a member of a contemporary quilting group which encourages the use of many types of materials, layering, dyeing, painting, printing and finishing with stitch. This is the field she is most interested in as there is so much potential out there and sources to be explored.

Nuala completed her degree in art and environmental studies in the 1980s and went on to teach in schools for 5 years. She has worked in Outdoor Education for the past 20 years, giving people opportunities to experience adventures, in the mountains, on rivers and on the sea. This immersion in the landscape teemed with extensive journeying and travel has deepened her interest both in the environment and landscape painting. She has been greatly influenced by the vibrancy of colour on her travels in India.

Jean specialises in creative landscape photography and the magnificent scenery of the Snowdonia National Park where she lives is the main inspiration for her work. Man’s influences on the landscape are a recurring theme in her exhibitions, images and books. She also believes passionately in ‘art-for-all’, giving everyone who wishes to, the opportunity of seeing their work displayed in a public space and she runs art projects and workshops with people of all ages and abilities throughout the UK.

On moving to Wales in 1980, Jay started to paint the wonderful scenery of Snowdonia. She came second in an Open 60's competition soon after she started, and later won first prize in the Amateur section at the Wrexham Open and first prize in a competition organised by the School of Continuing Education (Art Department) at Aberystwyth University. In 2006 she had a painting accepted for the Welsh Artist of the year at Cardiff. Tal-y-Garreg, Rhoslefain, Gwynedd LL36 9LP.

Gill originally trained as a Home Economics teacher and her work in schools included 'Needlework' - mainly dressmaking. With major curriculum changes this evolved into creative textiles encompassing a wide range of techniques with pupil experimentation at it's heart. She later studied with the Open University. Shortly after retiring, a one day course in Machine Embroidery led her to a City and Guilds finals exhibition within half an hour she was hooked and enrolled on a diploma course in Embroidery.
