The Talented Mr. Ripley - Evening All Afternoon
http://www.eveningallafternoon.com/2011/10/the-talented-mr-ripley.html
The Talented Mr. Ripley. October 31, 2011 2:49 PM. You know what sucks? Reading slumps. All the while I've not been blogging over the past few weeks (with the exception of the sex scene entry. In any case, I did, finally, in dribs and drabs, finish Patricia Highsmith's classic psychological thriller. The Talented Mr. Ripley. When he had said to Mrs. Greenleaf just now,. I'll do everything I can. Well, he meant it. He wasn't trying to fool anybody. He'd felt so well tonight! A state which only worsens, of...

Tea Change :: The Effects of Age
http://www.teachange.com/blog/2011/10/the-effects-of-age.html
The Effects of Age. October 27, 2011 10:38 PM. I was talking to the guy next to me tonight at the Lan Su Garden lecture. One of the things we were talking about is how glad he is to be old. (He's glad about that for a number of reasons, but one of which is that he doesn't have to find a job now, in the current slim pickings of micro-specialized possibilities.). These gardens had a look of Age. It's a look I love; a look, I think, coveted and admired in many cultures, and one which is probably impossi...

March 8, 2012 5:23 PM. I rarely drink a flavored or scented tea, but I have a real soft spot in my heart for Nuo Mi Xiang. The last time I drank Nuo Mi Xiang must have been on a beautiful, unseasonably warm spring day, too, because as soon as I lifted the lid on my gaiwan, the loveliness streaming in at me through the open back door seemed magically intensified. I'm very happy to have now doubled the strength of that association. Now maybe. The Effects of Age. October 27, 2011 10:38 PM. Anyway, one of th...

Tea Change :: Yunnan Gold from the Jasmine Pearl
http://www.teachange.com/blog/2011/04/yunnan-gold-from-the-jasmine-pearl.html
Yunnan Gold from the Jasmine Pearl. April 4, 2011 10:20 AM. Well, I gave this tea a second try today. And I guess I'm just not as impressed with it as I was the other. I brought home from the Jasmine Pearl trip. I have the impulse to give lots of disclaimers and caveats, but maybe it's just not that interesting of a tea. One of the disclaimers I would theoretically give, were I the type of person to give disclaimers, has to do with one of my very favorite teas: Tippy South Cloud, from the Tao of Tea.

Tea Change :: About Tea Change
http://www.teachange.com/about
My name is David. I live in Portland, OR, with my partner, Emily. And our tiny dog, Mr. Bingley. I didn't realize how deeply I had absorbed the ideals and aesthetic values of what Okakura Kakuzō refers to as "Teaism," though, until I read The Book of Tea. And what a book it is! In addition to the antidepressant, my caregiver recommended a prescription stimulant often helpful for people with my particular brand of attentional disorder. With my delicate and reactive history in mind, I suggested startin...
