Virtual Workshop for Writers. Come Write with Us! Trapped in the Middle. Previously: Cloy was on his way home from work one night when he witnessed an extraordinary girl get run over by a van. Instead of waiting for an ambulance, he picked her mangled body up and carried her home. Unable to understand his strange actions himself, what will he do with the fatally wounded girl? CHAPTER 2 MIRACLE OR MIRAGE? I regained control of my body as I put her in my bathtub. She was looking at me with grateful eyes.

I only waved my hand at her absent-mindedly as I left the restaurant I worked in. I didnt use to be like this. I once had hopes and dreams. But I guess dreamers are useless. I was. My phone beeped. I checked it. One new message. It was dad. I typed an answer and put my phone back into my pocket. A white van approached way too fast. All I saw was a streak of red.
