Phew If you would like to see them in the flesh they are at Old Gala House, Galashiels, Scotland! And should you wish to purchase (! Some you need to contact Old Gala House. Smailholm S...

Each machine had beautiful parts, each one individually designed for a specific use, but taken away from its context a great sculptural work of art. Not sure that is what the engineer/designer had in mind when he made it, and not sure that I captured it, but I could have spent months in that place drawing. Links to this post. Inklings: Larry the Lamb
http://inkling-blots.blogspot.com/2013/07/larry-lamb.html
25 July 2013 at 14:02. Hes so cute and he knows how to strike great sleeping poses. Lovely drawings! I know you call him Larry the Lamb, personally I like the more Lambs cut on our Charlie. Any shorter and he has spider legs or any thicker and he looks like a sheep by the end of summer and he always ends up with a collection of thistles bedded in his hair. They sure look so funny after their new hair cut : ). 4 August 2013 at 08:23. Thats so him well done.can you now publish one of him getting a bath!

Inklings: Alien Nation
http://inkling-blots.blogspot.com/2013/08/alien-nation.html
The actual Creeping thistle was amazing too. I'll get round to painting it when I've got over my excitement of aliens. I also looked at a fern with what to the naked eye looked like spores underneath, but on very close inspection it looked like a collection of worms under an umbrella. I know, totally technical terminology, but when they started flicking and moving I got freaked out and had to remove the fern. Maybe sometimes its not good looking too closely at things. 9 August 2013 at 00:00. Drawing at t...

To save myself from getting too upset watching Scotland getting beaten yet again, I decided to draw and and get distracted by all the lovely arms and tight shirts of the rugby players. Couldn't believe how hard they are to draw though. Far too fast and furious, but I was nicely distracted thankyou very much. Links to this post. St Bride's day today. The start of Spring. Apparently. Thought I'd draw the tulips just about to open, the start of things to come. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Thought I'd try and capture the sunset as the light was fading in this wee harbour. A bit of a scribble but it was such a peaceful scene couldn't resist sitting there capturing it. 26 March 2013 at 23:54. The contrast between the brown paper and the punchy colours is great. What are you using? Is it a pastel pencil or coloured pencil? Ive got some Derwent Studio coloured pencils that Im just not happy with. They dont lay down enough pigment. Too waxy perhaps? 27 March 2013 at 15:14. 1 April 2013 at 23:34.

Think I have a tree obsession. Not sure how bad it is yet, but I've noticed, in the past 2 days I've done at least 5 drawings of them. This obsession came to light as I've been going through old drawings and photos of mine trying to find ideas to turn into etchings. Putting together several images, I realised two thirds of them where trees, or wood related. I love seeing how fallen trees carry on growing, their branches turning into trees themselves, carrying on despite the odds. Links to this post.
