Akihabara is on the way to Shibuya, so I stopped off there to see if it looks any different at night. Shibuya is the shopping district. Lots of trendy shops and such. CJ's Not So Adventurous Adventure. Tuesday, October 9, 2012. Leaving Hiroshima for Nagasaki. Passing through more rural areas of Japan. No idea what those poles are there for. Wave breakers? Nagasaki has a reputation for being more open than the rest of Japan. When European traders first landed in Japan, they were restricted to doing business in the port of Nagasaki. Model of a trading ship at the Nagasaki train station. The street behind the hostel leads into the local main shopping street.

CJ's Not So Adventurous Adventure. Sunday, October 7, 2012. Hiroshima doesn't have subways like Tokyo did. It's a much smaller town. What they have instead are streetcars. The only downside to streetcars, aside from possible wear and tear on motorist's vehicles because of the tracks, is the extra cabling you need to string up.
