The Connecticut State Library is proud to bring you that historic film. I posted a new...

Writing Women's Histories One Woman at a Time: Following Seventeenth Century Rules
http://aliceplouchardstelzer.blogspot.com/2012/01/following-seventeenth-century-rules.html
Writing Women's Histories One Woman at a Time. Sunday, January 29, 2012. Following Seventeenth Century Rules. We started last week to look at some of the individual women who I am profiling in my book, “Tracing the Invisible Women Who Helped Birth Connecticut.” As I promised here is what happened to Hannah Spencer when she changed her mind about marrying Simon Lobell. Of course, the bigger price for such an offense, the gossip and avoidance of her neighbors, challenged Hannah. It is obvious that Jare...

Writing Women's Histories One Woman at a Time. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Number Four of my 4-Pronged Research Plan. The last item of my research plan was to investigate what resources there are online. I was amazed at how much more there is available online than just five years ago when I started this project. As I said before, many organizations are working at a fast pace to get much of their materials online and available to everyone. The Godfrey Library ( Godfrey.org. It is also possible to just Googl...

Writing Women's Histories One Woman at a Time. Sunday, December 18, 2011. Networking by any Name. Close Relationships vs Immediacy and Greater Numbers. Often as I traveled back and forth across the state, it amazed me to meet women and/or groups of women struggling with a project and had no idea that other women somewhere else in the state were having the same struggle or had already completed a similar project. They were missing a link. Here’s a great exercise. As you answer each question of a...While w...

Desk with a view. Saturday, January 26, 2008. I would like to be able to combine more than one feed option through Yahoo pipes. I think I will have to do a bit more 'messing around with pipes" to really see what they can do. They would be option for bringing together information. Really, REALLY BIG RSS feed button. Writing Women's Histories One Woman at a Time. Sunday, September 11, 2011. We Need to Expect the Best. Today I’m thinking about how expectations change lives. I’ve been reading too many social media comments recently about the low quality of self-published books. My expectation is th...
