Heartbleed Update (v3) - The Akamai Blog
https://blogs.akamai.com/2014/04/heartbleed-update-v3.html
April 13, 2014 7:20 PM. Over the weekend, an independent security researcher contacted Akamai. About some defects in the software we use for memory allocation around SSL keys. We discussed Friday. How we believed this had provided our SSL keys with protection against Heartbleed and had contributed the code. Back to the community. The code that we had contributed back was, as we noted, not a full patch, but would be a starting point for improving the openssl codebase. April 14, 2014 6:04 AM.

The Situational Room by eIQnetworks. Compliance Matters for Healthcare IT. May 2, 2012. The problem, unfortunately, is that many healthcare IT organizations don’t have a clear understanding of whether their systems are compliant with these detailed DISA STIG standards, let alone any ability to ensure continuous monitoring of these controls (which is critical for both compliance and security). The problem is there’s no quick and cost-effectively way to obtain this information or is there? It’s Time ...

Environment Bashing - The Akamai Blog
https://blogs.akamai.com/2014/09/environment-bashing.html
September 24, 2014 10:58 AM. Akamai is aware that the fix to CVE-2014-6271 did not completely address the critical vulnerability in the Bourne Again Shell (bash). This deficiency is documented in CVE-2014-7169. The new vulnerability presents an unusually complex threat landscape as it is an industry-wide risk. Akamai systems and internal Akamai control systems have been or are being urgently patched or otherwise mitigated in prioritized order of criticality. To execute arbitrary code. As bash.
