The Fastnet Race and CSORC. The Fastnet Race has been held since 1925, when it attracted seven entries and was won by Jolie Brise. A converted pilot cutter that is still sailing today. The early races continued in the same vein - sporadic events with small numbers of competitors most of which were not purpose-built racers. Jolie Brise - winner of the Fastnet in 1925. After a quiet spell following the IDOR back in May CSORC finally got organised and sorted out a charter, entry and crew for the St Peter Port JOG. This is a nice event - not too long or too short, with an interesting bit of navigation in the later stages, and a pretty destination for a bit of post-race R and R. Tuesday, 20 September 2011.
