China Service Project 2012. Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Summer Palace and "America". I just realized I missed an entire day of our trip. This was June 29th. After breakfast, Friday morning our group met tour guide Martin at the hotel lobby. He led us on a bus and subway ride to the Summer Palace. The emperor built the summer palace by a manmade lake. China Service Project 2012. Tuesday, July 10, 2012. On one of the evenings in Yanjiou, on our way back to our hotel, we were fortunate to witness community activities of singing and dancing. There is a parking lot just inside the main entrance to the apartment complex. On past trips, we have witnessed fan dancers collected here. China Service Project 2012. Thursday, June 28, 2012. Great Wall and Shopping. Our Thursday began with quick breakfast at the nearby McDonalds. I love the pineapple pie they serve. With rain steadily coming down and likely to continue all day, Jodi found a great deal on umbrellas at a newspaper stand in front of the main hotel building.
