Journalism Senior Seminar

Wednesday, October 17, 2012. This picture is good because it is a subject that represents a culture - a group of youths in Palestine having fun. The photographer has obviously got to know the subjects to know why they are jumping over objects and what their sport is exactly all about. Journalism Senior Seminar: Photo Critique

http://csulbseniorseminar.blogspot.com/2012/10/photo-critique_7309.html

Thursday, October 11, 2012. Photojournalist Michael Goulding is an excellent example of a great photograper. He uses a variety of techniques to tell a story. His photos are filled with emotion and creativity. Here is another great photojournalism image from Goulding of young children floating in a pool. The photo captures the story of small children learning how to safely turn over in a pool to avoid drowning. Joe Klamar took an array of Olympic portraits, which were highly scrutinized for their “a...

Thursday, October 11, 2012. Photo by: Maria Velazco. Photo- To improve this photo I would have zoomed out more to capture the entire waterfall, from top to bottom. Also, I would adjust the aperture to capture its movement better. Lastly, I would try a different angle, perhaps from the top looking down. Photo by: Maria Velazco. Journalism Senior Seminar: Photography Critiques

Thursday, October 11, 2012. Photo by Gladys Quintero. This composition of this photo uses Rule of Thirds and great stop motion use. As an action shot, the photographer made sure to use a fast shutter speed in order to avoid the subject from being blurry and placed the subject in a good frame so their face of body wouldn't be cut off. Overall, good use of composition. Photo by Xochitl Castillo. Photo by Lourdes Murillo. Photo by Raymond Miranda. October 12, 2012 at 10:26 PM. Good vs Bad By Matthew Sousa.

Journalism Senior Seminar

http://csulbseniorseminar.blogspot.com/2012/10/photo-critique-examples-of-good.html

Monday, October 15, 2012. Examples of Good Photojournalism. This image was used to illustrate an article on Raider fans. The image is interesting, as the main subject is the central focus of the picture. The background is blurred out. This makes the subject pop out of the photo. The subject is also looking straight out at the camera, giving the viewer the impression that he is looking and pointing at the reader. Examples of Photojournalism that can be improved. Posted by Sandy Brambila. Good vs Bad photos.
