Dancers are found depicted in bas-relief in the hills of Udaygiri (near Bhubaneshwar) dating back to the 1st century BC. The Natya Shastra speaks of the Dance from this region and refers to it as Odra-Magadhi. The favourite themes of odishi performance is the divine love between Radha and Lord Krishna. Pata chitra ( PATA PAINTING ). Is known for its special type of paintings called the Pata Chitra. This is a traditional Indian painting form, which is done on cloth. The cloth is first coated with a unique mixture of chalk and gum and left to dry. It is thereafter polished before the actual painting work can begin. The painted cloth, known as ' pata. Paper maché mask making. Raghurajpur is a heritage crafts village of approximately 125 artisan families surrounded by tribal villages located near Chandanpur, Orissa, India. Located on the Bhargavi River, it is surrounded by groves of coconut, palm, mango, jackfruit and other tropical trees. Paper maché mask making. Erotica is an essential element in Orissa's cultural history and is featured on numerous temples. Raghurajpur is home to a book on ancient Erotica that includes 64 erotic palm leaf drawings accompanied by a poem in Sanskrit describing each pose. Bashayan Maharshi first wrote the erotic descriptions in Sanskrit using palm leaf carving. After that, Upendra Vanja translated the descriptions into the language of Oriya and created drawings of the 64 poses. Various Arts at the festival.
