I am so excited and thankful that Glimmer Train honored my short story “Army Mom” as a Top-25 finalist in their May New Writer Award. It is a story about a woman whose husband’s diseased chihuahua is kidnapped on the last day she has to spend with her Army new-recruit of a son. Parts of it are reportedly hilarious, even to myself.
