I'm CT1EKD HAM radio operator since 1991. My favorite areas are: Propagation studies, DX contacts, Exotic types of propagation, as EME (moon bounce), Meteor Scatter or TEP. Active mostly in HF frequencies, my favorite is 15 meters band, but also active on all ham radios bands, from 1,8 MHZ to 28MHZ, 50 MHZ, 70MHZ 144 and 432MHZ. Trophosferic Propagation from Portugal to Mauritanea in a Tropo duct over west Africa coast. You can listen here: CT1EKD working RW1ZC/MM on the 2 meters band. And CW mode (morse).

Meteorologic Station and actual values at this location. The meteo station is a Watson model W8186 with UV and solar energy for the outside equipment. The place is located 180 ASL (above sea level) and 6 meters AGL (above ground level). The home station is localized about 15 meters in the garage, under ground level. Sometimes the signal cannot pass the concrete wall, and the station frezzes till receive signal from the outside equipment. This station show us the folling values.

The radio station is located at a small hill at IM59IB Loc. at 180 meters ASL and 15 meters AGL, it's 50 KM north of Lisbon close to Torres Vedras city. The place is very good for HF radio few interferences and a clear take off to North, West and South directions. To West there is a litle mountain that cuts the signals a bit. Soldering a small 20-Lead TSSOP IC might seem a difficult task, but by applying some very simple techniques, even the not so skillful amateur can have success. The photo, taken using a small USB webcam in macro mode, shows a manually soldered AD9834. TSSOP SMD chip. This was achieved using the following procedure:. 1 apply water based flux to the board. 2 apply some solder to the tracks. 3 remove excess solder with solder wick. 4 align the IC.
