CT À PARIS: Farewell Dinner
http://ctheis.blogspot.com/2008/12/farewell-dinner.html
Friday, December 12, 2008. Last weekend my program held their Farewell Dinner. It was actually like 2 weeks before the end of the program, but in hindsight I'm glad, since it leaves my last weekend free to do what I want. We met up at Madeleine church for a group picture beforehand. Can you find me? Probably not. Hint: I am behind my friend Sam, who is one of the few males in the program. The food was good, though. A meli-melo of shrimp, fruit and vegetables served in a coconut shell. Coming to an end.
CT À PARIS: September 2008
http://ctheis.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 29, 2008. I also used pretty much any reflective surface possible to take pictures of myself. Do you see me? Hint: I have a pink sweater on. Self-portrait with bear (see me back there? In the hall of mirrors. In the balloon in the hall of mirrors I also hit the gift shop here HARD. I got these awesome hologram postcards for my little cousins, and then I figured since I was buying things anyway, I might as well get books. And so I bought my first children's book of the trip. Yeah, yeah, ...
CT À PARIS: August 2008
http://ctheis.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 31, 2008. Alright so you've seen my front door, and kind of my street, so here is the real apartment. When you walk in the door, the first room you see is the kitchen on your right. After the kitchen you walk down this pseudo-hallway that has a little half wall. This picture is deceptive, the bathroom is actually really big, especially by Paris standards. When you walk out of the bathroom, this is what you see. If you turn to your left, you'll see into our living room. My roommates are all...

CT in SA: 6 April (day 21)
http://ctinsa.blogspot.com/2009/04/6-april-day-21.html
Caitlin in South Africa. Sunday, April 12, 2009. 6 April (day 21). Our plans for today were to go zip lining in the morning and then have a day of leisure in the afternoon where we could do whatever we wanted at Tsitsikamma. We started out according to plan. The guides talked to us about the trees we were in and what we were seeing. They’re also an environmentally-friendly company, so none of the trees were drilled into, everything was held up by tension. A little scary but really cool. 13 April (Day 28).

Caitlin in South Africa. Thursday, April 23, 2009. 9 April (Day 24). Today we didn’t have to do anything until 2pm. Most people went to the beach, but I spent the morning catching up on my writing. I’m not sure if you can tell, but the days have been pretty full, so I was getting really behind. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Caitlin in South Africa. Tuesday, February 10, 2009. I leave for Stellenbosch in 33 days! Welcome to the new blog. I won't have the same type of internet access when I'm in South Africa that I had in Paris, so updates will probably be less frequent, but who knows? When I was in Paris I had a tendency to post several updates all at once, and I will probably do something similar when this guy is up and running. If you somehow missed out on the greatness that was my Paris study abroad blog.

Caitlin in South Africa. Thursday, April 23, 2009. 14 April (Day 29) (Cage Diving). Poor timing on our part, I guess. We ate breakfast at the center and then had a really quick briefing about the weather and the sighting conditions we should expect for the day. The water was 14 degrees Celsius! The cage holds five people at a time, and is attached to the side of the boat. The top is out of the water, and you hold yourself up there until the guy on the boat yells, “Down! The worst part is that Alex bolted...

Caitlin in South Africa. Sunday, April 12, 2009. 4 April (Day 19). There were a few others at Sandy’s, and we all decided it would be a good idea to check out the pool. It really was. Too bad we didn’t go to our cabins to get swimsuits first. Did that stop us? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). CT in SA: 10 April (Day 25)
http://ctinsa.blogspot.com/2009/04/10-april-day-25.html
Caitlin in South Africa. Thursday, April 23, 2009. 10 April (Day 25). The main plan for today was to drive from Mossel Bay to Montagu. In Mossel Bay we were staying right near the beach, but Montagu is kind of in the middle of nowhere. Since it was Good Friday, we figured there wouldn’t be much to do in Montagu, so we decided to spend the bulk of our “day of leisure” in Mossel Bay. There was another separate guesthouse in the back where Jeff, Jake, Anna, and Jessica were staying, and everyone else was in...

Caitlin in South Africa. Sunday, April 12, 2009. 5 April (Day 20). Having walked over giant rocks to get where we were, we were a bit wary of rain. We tried to rush back to the trail and got sidetracked again! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Losing to Gain | A christian woman's journey through weight loss surgery and how losing it all means gaining everything! :)
A christian woman's journey through weight loss surgery and how losing it all means gaining everything! July 14, 2012. So I know I’ve been off the map for a week or so—but we had VBS at church every night this week, add that on to working a full day with 4yr olds, and only being 5 weeks post surgery, you can imagine my exhaustion. And I have trouble saying no from time to time. Or always. Whatever. Then last night at the big finale cookout (where I brought my own protein rich dinner! They all made a fuss...
