Life isn't fair blah blah blah.but things like these punch right through your heart. He had a wife and kid.and friends that are all hurting. No reason, really. Just cancer. Roll of the dice. So, it's early evening, and I'm expecting my mother to call. We have a time-honored and very intimate greeting; shouting variations of Hello at top volume when answering each other's calls. I wasn't raised in any particular way, with any particular traditions, but I definitely feel one dominant cultural contact.
