Culinary Experiments Gone Well. Friday, April 30, 2010. Creamy Cranberry Porkchops with Mushrooms. One of the real keys to this dish is getting the right type of cranberry juice. Don't get a cranberry cocktail- those are just too sweet and too thin. Look for an unfiltered kind or a 100% juice variety. I used a cranberry-pomegranate juice, and it was great. Creamy Cranberry Porkchops with Mushrooms. 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil. 4 boneless pork tenderloin chops. 1 finely diced shallot. This just k...
Culinarious: White Peach and Raspberry Cobbler
http://culinarious.blogspot.com/2010/08/white-peach-and-raspberry-cobbler.html
Culinary Experiments Gone Well. Sunday, August 8, 2010. White Peach and Raspberry Cobbler. Peaches and raspberries are some of my favorite reasons to have summer (notwithstanding the big ticket items like beach, warm, and happiness). This is a relatively simple dessert with unadorned flavors, but the freshness of the fruit and a big old dollop of [real] whipped cream really delivers a tasty, seasonal punch. White Peach and Raspberry Cobbler. 2 large white peaches. 1 cup fresh raspberries. Grease 4 rameki...

Culinary Experiments Gone Well. Sunday, May 2, 2010. Lessons learned from my mom. My mom may not be what you would call a gourmet chef (although after the kids all moved out, she has been producing some seriously impressive meals- her homemade pasta nowadays is amazing), but I have learned some very special lessons about food and life from watching my mom cook for my family. On Mother's Day, I thought I'd share some of them with you. 1 Use real whipped cream. 3 Sacrifice for people you love.
Culinarious: Autumn
http://culinarious.blogspot.com/2011/09/autumn.html
Culinary Experiments Gone Well. Thursday, September 15, 2011. So, I'm still wearing shorts and short sleeves, but I was making plans for well into October and November, and then it struck me that autumn is one week away. The tomatoes in my garden are way past their prime. While it's not cool by any means, it's certainly not 100 degrees anymore. I believe it has something to do with the orbit of the earth. So while I have a few autumn recipes. Put a link or a recipe in the comments. I love the fall!

Canada Pants: March Madness Moneybags
http://canadapants.blogspot.com/2015/03/march-madness-moneybags.html
I'm not a blogger, I just post a lot. Tuesday, March 31. About two weeks ago my boss called me "March Madness Moneybags" because a.) I have been named keeper of our March Madness office pool (a hefty $12) and because b.) I may have helped write the $39k grant proposal we were just awarded by NEH. I can see why people get sucked into their careers and don't do anything else. Success after good old-fashioned cry-your-eyes-out hard work feels really really. Experience for our visitors. The stuff i post about.

Canada Pants: because summer
http://canadapants.blogspot.com/2015/07/because-summer.html
I'm not a blogger, I just post a lot. Sunday, July 12. I meant to post something about how lovely May was, but then June came and now it's July. Suffice it to say, May was lovely. One of the loveliest Mays ever. I basked in the beautiful spring flowers, watched WWII planes from the roof of DH, celebrated Momma P, got an insider tour of Nats stadium, and reveled in the nuclear-heated waters of Lake Anna. Here are some photos:. July 12, 2015 at 8:52 PM. Sugar Loaf looks so beautiful! The stuff i post about.
Canada Pants: August 2014

I'm not a blogger, I just post a lot. Monday, August 18. Emmy G skips town. Emily has left town for the greener (less green? Pastures of NYC. You might remember Emmy G from this post. Or even this post. Bahaha) and said "Does anyone want to move to Arlington with me? And I almost felt possessed when I yelled YES! In her face. And she was like "for real? And I was like yes. I am serious (This is how we communicate). She took me to Strand Books on my first night there. Reason #431 she's a great friend.

Where am I going? ...And why am I this handbasket?: February 2010
http://sabegalli.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Where am I going? And why am I this handbasket? A chronicle of my life.or something I found to be poignant.or randomness. Wednesday, February 10, 2010. It's been a long while. I was reflecting on my lack of postings on this blog the other day (like I do many days), and I realized that the last post was about a sickness that I couldn't exactly shake off. I suddenly thought that, not having posted here for months, people might think I'm dead! What's the world coming to? Ben doesn't know what to say! This s...
Durham Delish: May 2010

Food Reviews and Recipe Shares. Tuesday, May 18, 2010. A recipe, An experiment, and a request. . . I've been craving a good grilled cheese lately. This. Recently for a post-church lunch, I made waffled grilled cheese. It was fun, and easy (though I am still working out some of the kinks (cleaning burnt cheese must be done while the waffle iron is still hot). So here goes. . . I figured out how long it takes by peeking every so often- the time it takes for the light to go off was longer than I like it (I ...

A Bean Who Traveled the World. Monday, June 29, 2009. So it's been a while since I've posted . . . again . . . . Here I was thinking I was going to have all this free time once I finished my calculus class. No such luck. At least I haven't been sitting at home doing math all day long! Here's a random list of happenings, in no particularly order. Http:/ ghsia.wordpress.com/. I'm super excited about his project. I'm also really hoping this could lead some more international travel. Vogeltjes in februari? Die vroeg in de ochtend fluitend aan een nieuwe dag beginnen? Het moest niet gekker worden! En afgelopen week stond er een bericht in de krant, dat er sneeuwuilen gesignaleerd waren in Nederland. Vijf verschillende exemplaren! 1 wortel, geschild. 1 theelepel tomate...

Exploring the world of all things food related…one bite at a time. Almost Gone, But Not Forgotten. January 25, 2013. It’s been seriously long since I’ve posted on this blog. Things happen. I recently started a new blog about mine and my siblings’ journey to become vegan (or vegetarian in their case) for the next 6 weeks. Inspired by the documentary Vegucated, we decided to give it a spin. So check out A Fling With the Veg Thing. Fresh From the Farm…. June 28, 2011. Over the following weeks I received mor...
