The scallops recipe is from Bittman - just a bit of garlic before searing the scallops (in butter and olive oil) and then white wine to make the sauce. Works great. I made roasted zucchini as a side dish - roughly following this recipe. Scallops and cherry tomatoes. Swordfish with orange sauce. Pan-seared scallop with zucchini.

I should try it with cabillaud (cod). Swordfish was a bit bland, so the sauce added a nice touch. I served it with rice. Scallops and cherry tomatoes. Swordfish with orange sauce. Very simple and quite good, although the mix of spices may need some adjusting - I used fresh thyme, dry oregano and a bit of Herbs de Provance. Roasted potimarron with honey and sage. Salmon and spinach quiche.

A blog of food, cooking, and everything else. Sunday, March 29, 2015. I've tried several pound cake recipes - the most recent one was lemon and poppy seed from Bittman's Basics. It was okay, but a bit dry and bland. Maybe it was because I didn't have enough glazing (I used only one lemon). But I think I should stick with Lebovitz - his orange cake was very good (and I tried it with poppy and lemon too). Warm chocolate cake with caramel sauce.
